Breaking News

Entering the hall again you see Astoria sulking by herself looking across the room at your table. There at the edge whispering with Blaise and Luna is Draco. Harry walks over beside Ron and Neville and sits down to eat. You move to take the seat next to Draco and are soon joined by Hermione.

"When are the papers due?" Hermione whispers.

"Not for another hour," Luna tells her.

"I thought I would have had word by now from my father. Strange."

No sooner had he finished the sentence than the Malfoy owl swoops down and drops a letter onto the space between you and Draco. He picks it up and tears open the envelope and begins to read.

"The bastard!" Draco scoffs as he stands up and storms out. You want to go after him. You want to comfort him but it is not your place. You watch as Astoria rises and dramatically flees the hall calling 'love," in an almost giddy tone.

You lift up the letter and fold it.

"Aren't you going to read it?" Blaise asks.

"It's private. If he wants to tell us what is in it he will."

Another four owl swoops down to you as you begin to eat your pasta. These birds are carrying a large box between them and land by Blaise. "Oh my delivery. That was quick."

He opens the box and pulls put a letter. "Perfect! Ladies when you are ready, follow me to Evee's dorm. Make sure to take the papers with you." He stands up and leaves the hall.

As he does another owl swoops down. "What the hell?" you ask as this one lands on your shoulder and holds out it's leg. It was Kingsley's owl. "Ladies it is early copies of the papers. Shall we?"

"Come on before the whispering starts." Hermione says nodding to the front hall.

You stand up and walk out and up the stairs.

"Luna!" you hear a familiar voice behind you shout. You all turn to se Draco standing there.

Damn that boy is a good actor.

He looks distraught. "Luna...I have something to tell you. Can we...go somewhere private?"

"Draco what is it?" Luna asks concerned.

"Not...not here."

"Come to my room."

You go to walk off when Astoria runs up the steps. "Draco! You need to stay with me. This is terrible news and you need to be with family." She stomps her foot.

"Luna is my family."

"Yes...well...I meant me obviously. You need comforting. You need-"

"Privacy. Come on Hermione," You give an apologetic smile as you and Hermione head off in the other direction towards the stairs again.

"Where are we going?" Hermione whispers.

"To hide until she goes she it doesn't look like we are all together."

"Good thinking. In here," Hermione says as you enter an empty classroom.

You cast the mirror spell on the door so you can see out. "Blaise is right this is a handy little spell."

It only takes a minute but you see Astoria stomp past mumbling to herself. "I am family. If there is a death in the family I should be part of it. Not Loony bloody Lovegood. Me!"

"You know," Hermione whispers, "I really don't like her."

"She never used to be like this."

When the coast is clear you make your way to your dorm. Once inside you unfold the newspaper and begin to read out for everyone:
