Luna didn't come back until about 5am. You waited up to hear if she was all right but she just smiled and hugged you and headed to the spare room to sleep. You had insisted that Blaise sleep in your room as he was exhausted and you were too wired to sleep.
You sat there rethinking everything that was said between you and Draco the night before. It was like a bad dream that played over and over again in your mind.
You loved him. You knew deep down you did. And he loved you. But there was something holding you both back. His was his desire to keep his mother happy and not inflict her to a life of middle class. Merlin forbids he should actually have to earn a living for himself.
In the end...money meant more to him than love.
And what was holding you back? The fact that he was willing to give you up so easily.
You had thought that you two could have some form of a friendship. That you wouldn't have to cast him out of your life completely but it was getting too complicated. It hurt too much.
You found yourself wishing that it was June and you were graduating so you wouldn't have to see him everyday. Maybe space was what you both needed?
You had no idea how long you sat there for but the sun had come up and you were still sitting in your ball gown from the night before and knew you needed to change and get breakfast.
You headed down to the Great Hall. You walked in and looked around for a familiar face, as you hated to eat alone. Your eyes wondered over to the Slytherin table. There sat Astoria, on Draco's knee, feeding him grapes.
He had a huge smile on his face as he looked very much in love. Your heart ached again. He looked your direction and his face falls as he catches your eye. He stands up dropping Astoria to the floor. He bends down to offer her a hand up and you turn and make your escape while he is distracted.
You run down the corridor beside the hall, as it is the first place you think of and hide behind a statue. You watch as Draco runs up the stairs cursing to himself and away out of sight with Astoria hot on his heels.
"Can Gladys get something for Miss?" a house elf asks from behind you. You rub your eyes.
"Yes please, could I get some breakfast for me and my two friends?"
"Of course Miss." She snaps her fingers and a tray appears in her hands loaded with food. "Leads the way Miss."
"Can I give you a hand?"
"Oh no Miss. Gladys is fine."
"Ok well this way then, thank you."
The house elf follows after you. You head off upstairs and down the corridor, taking down the wards and say the password, opening the door and entering the room.
Luna and Blaise are both sitting on the couch, laughing and very obviously flirting. "Oh breakfast," Luna smiles as she rises off the sofa using Blaise's leg as leverage. "Thank you kindly ma'am," she smiles at the house elf.
"Yes...em thank you," Blaise grunts.
"Thank you Gladys. I hope I see you again."
The house elf bows and apparates.
You sit down and begin to pour coffee for everyone as Luna fills three plates with food. She butters toast and hands it to Blaise.
"You two seem to be getting along well?" You smirk.
"Blaise is charming as always."
"So where did you sneak off to this morning?" he asks you.
"I thought I might head down to the Great Hall for breakfast but when I got there I didn't think I could stomach it."
