Forgiving

The days actually flew by. You found you enjoyed having roommates for the first time in a long time.

When you and Hermione did leave the room you did get bombarded as you predicted with questions about Draco but you gave everyone you well rehearsed lie.

Astoria was not happy about it. "I don't understand. Why is he in your room?"

"He isn't in my room. He is in Luna's."

"But why?"

"She is his cousin and Blaise is his best friend. They are mourning together."

"He should be with me. I should be the one he wants."

"I am sorry Astoria. He won't talk to either of us. I have passed on your messages and I have given him your letters but he won't see anyone."

"Let me in your room and I will get him to talk to me."

"Astoria I have told you I can't. He won't see anyone and McGonagall forbid me to. She put a shield on the room so only we can get in. I am sorry."

"Stupid witch keeping me apart from my love," she huffed and walked off.

"You know, it is a pity her and Lavender never met," you smirk.

You head to Draco's dorm to get him clothes. You say the password he gave you and unlock the door with his key. "He was really making sure Astoria didn't get in."

You step in as close the door. His room is nice although much smaller than yours and without the living space. You head to the drawers and get out pairs of boxer, t-shirts, trousers, jumpers, shoes, socks and a school uniform. Basically everything and anything is thrown into the bag.

"Evee, look at this," Hermione holds up a box. "It has your name on it." You open the box to see two piles of letters.

"These are letters that I have wrote to him over the years."

"And those?"

"This is Draco's handwriting. They are dated. They start on Boxing Day and go right up to last week."

"You have been writing during your breakup?" Hermione asks curiously.

"No."

"Well he has clearly. He just never mailed them."

You close the box and set it back. "Maybe someday he will show me but right now it is his private letters and I have no business reading them."

"How is everything with him?"

"Complicated."

"Why?"

"I love him Mione. And he has told me on more than one occasion that he loves me. We even kissed on my birthday."

"You did?"

"Yes but I felt incredibly guilty. He has a fiancé,"

"Who he can't stand."

"Even so I wouldn't do that to her."

"You are such a good friend Evee. I wish I was more like you."

"Trust me you don't. So what about you?"

"Me?"

"Yes you and Viktor?"

"Oh that is nothing. We are better friends. A long distance thing would never work and he is a Quidditch player travelling the world. He is too famous to settle down, which is what I want. He would never be happy. I couldn't ask him to do that."

"You want a family Mione?"

"Oh Merlin, yes. I want three or four kids with a big house and a large garden for them to play in. A nice, friendly village somewhere."
