Making it Home

It took three days in the hospital before you were allowed to leave. Apparently some wounds heal much faster than others as your heart is still very much broken. Three days in which you have not seen, spoke to or heard from Draco. Three nights of nightmares and screaming in your sleep.

You had refused all other visitors. You didn't have the heart to see anyone or to have to explain to anyone what had happened. Actually you were having problems explaining it to yourself. You hated yourself for fighting with him. But you refused to spend the rest of your life with someone who was going to compare you to others everytime the going got tough.

But you had never felt more alone.

Kingsley arrived the day of your release. He was the only one who had gotten into see you in days and you assumed it had something to do with the fact that he was Minister and could do pretty much whatever he wanted.

"Evee, I have been worried sick about you. Narcissa and Jonathan told me you and Draco had a fight. I am sorry. I do hope you can sort through it?"

"I haven't heard from him. I am not sure if there is much left to sort through. It speaks volumes."

"Never fear. Sometimes these things just work themselves out. I do however come with news."

"Oh?" You ask as you pack up the rest of your things.

"As you know Lucius Malfoy was pronounced dead on the evening of your attack."

"Yes."

"Well as Simon is in Azkaban serving a life sentence for kidnapping, attempted murder and," he gives an awkward cough, "sexual assault. He is not entitled to any of his inheritance. Now that Narcissa has magically returned from the dead, she gets everything. The houses, the money, the lot."

"That is great news!"

"Yes she moves fast that woman. The manor has already been demolished. The land is cleared and another smaller but stunning manor has been constructed in its place."

"In a day?" you ask in disbelief.

"Of course. Magic my dear," he winked.

"Now that she has her home, she has moved out of your manor. She thought you may want peace after your ordeal."

"Well I still have Blaise and Luna." You smile.

His face drops.

"What?"

"Well you know that Blaise gave up his trust fund for his mother? Well her husband just passed away and he left her a great deal of money. Some of which she used to build Blaise and Luna a house."

"Oh!"

"It is in the vicinity of your home. Close to Malfoy Manor too."

"So they moved out as well?"

"Yes. They left first thinking they would be leaving you and the Malfoys more space."

"Well good for them." You think for a moment. "I assume Jonathan moved with Narcissa. What about Draco?"

"I do not know for sure but I think he moved back in with his mother."

You hung your head low. "Well I guess that settles that then." A single tear gives you away as it falls down your cheek.

"My dear, why not come and stay with me for a while. Johanna would love to have you."

"Thank you uncle Kings but I will be fine. I will be glad to be back in my own bed. But I will come and visit you both soon."

"Well if you are sure. You are welcome any time. The guards station has been removed and the shields taken down...well most of them anyway. You will still be notified if someone comes on the property and your parents shields are still in place so muggles can't find it etc."
