The following morning you are up before both of the girls to take a vial. You have a shower, put on makeup and get dressed.
Whatever dream you had it gave you some sort of courage. You decided that you were going to speak to Draco after work. As there was no more threat against you, you knew he would be back to his old office but you thought if you were at the Ministry early you could catch him and make him listen.
By the time Hermione and Luna joined you in the kitchen you were convinced that you would have him back no matter what it took. He would hopefully even move back in with you tonight.
"What are you so happy about?" Hermione asked smiling at your attitude.
"Good you are up. I am heading into work early. I am going to find Draco and make him listen and get our relationship back on track again."
Hermione clapped her hands together in excitement. "Oh great! I just need to change. Evee can I borrow clothes?"
"Of course both of you can. Clothes hanging up and undergarments in the drawers. I have loads of new pairs never worn before. Help yourself."
The girls were back down and ready to go in less than 10 minutes. You waved goodbye to Mack, Bailey and Poppy and were the first to step into the fireplace and step out in the foyer of the Ministry.
For being 45 minutes early there were already quite a number of staff members roaming the halls. You wasted no time though and headed for the coffee dock ordering two vanilla lattes and heading up to your office.
The boys had not gathered up their papers yet so you knew they were not there yet. You spent about 20 minutes sending off notes and letters quickly to try and get rid of some of the memos on your desk while you waited.
You stopped when you heard the reception door open. You quickly jumped jump and cast a heating spell on the coffee cups and went out to reception. But it was the wrong boy. Harry entered the office.
"I am glad to see you feeling better," he smiled.
"Thanks. I feel better. Is Draco on his way?"
"Em...no...I am collecting his things."
"Oh...but he is in?"
"Yeah he is in our office."
"Good I need to talk to him." You smile and head out the door. You march down the hall, practising like a 12 year old, as to what you were going to say.
You round the corner and stop dead when you see a young girl standing with her back to you, talking to Draco. He is smiling as seems to be enjoying the conversation. You on the other hand are pretty sure you can hear your heartbreak.
You turn to try and make a quiet exit but at that moment Draco looks up and see you. His face pales. "Evee?" He asks. He touches the girls elbow as he walks towards you. She turns to see him leave. Of course she is bloody stunning because if you didn't have bad luck you would have no luck at all. He stops in front you and stand awkwardly not sure of how to greet you. This is painful.
"Um...coffee?" you ask holding out the cup. "It is a vanilla latte."
"Yeah...uh...thanks...I love these."
"I am sorry I didn't mean to interrupt your conversation."
"No no it is fine. Harry and I are working on a case for her."
"Oh that's good."
"Yeah our first real case. It is exciting."
"Well I know you will both do brilliantly."
