Confrontation

You walk off to a quiet corner of the room after Astoria. She rounds on you with a half smile on her face.

"I wanted to talk to you ever since we got off the train. I am so sorry for everything that has happened to you Evee. You didn't deserve this. You know I never intended to steal Draco in any way. I-"

"Astoria, I know you didn't."

"You do?" she sniffs. "I am sorry Evee. My dad insisted that I was marrying him as soon as we graduate. We didn't have much say in it."

"I know Tori, it's alright."

"Evee, he loves you. He talks about you all the time. Even when he fell asleep on the train he was obviously dreaming of you as he was saying the most beautiful things to you. Things I could only ever dream he would say to me."

"Tori, I_"

"I know he doesn't love me. I know that he will always resent me because I stopped him from being with you. How can I marry him when I know I am not what he wants? And what if he isn't what I want? I don't know anymore."

You grab her arms to make her look at you.

"Listen to me Tori. You are an amazing woman. You deserve your happily ever after. It doesn't matter who it is with so long as you are happy. I am glad that Draco has someone like you to love him. He is very lucky. You are like a sister to me Tori and all I want is your happiness. DO not concern yourself with me. I know you didn't steal him from me. I know you are not that kind of person. But you and Draco are to be married. This is your chance at a happy life and I would never take that away from you."

"Really?" Astoria cried.

"Really. He is not my Draco anymore. He is yours. You have always loved him and you will make a great wife to him. Make sure he treats you well or he will have to deal with me. Ok?"

"Thank you Evee. You are too kind."

"Don't be silly. I love you Tori." You hug her.

"I love you too. You are like a sister to me as well Evee. I am lucky to have you."

"You always will. Now go find your future husband."

You turn and walk off up to your dorm thinking you have had enough entertainment for one evening. You walk to your bedside locker to grab your makeup remover when Daphne barges into the room followed by Pansy and Theo.

"You bitch! What did you say to Tori?" Daphne shouts as she slaps you across the face.

"Daph, I-"

"Don't lie to me. I saw her crying when you were talking. By the time I made it over to her she was with Draco. Thankfully he was there for her. You couldn't leave it alone could you? You couldn't just accept that Draco doesn't want you anymore and he loves Tori. You had to ruin her chance at happiness too."

"Daphne that is not what happened!"

"We saw you didn't we Pansy?"

You look to Pansy with pleading eyes. But she is looking at you with disgust.

"How could you do that to her Evelyn. She has been nothing but nice to you. She was beside herself when Draco first told you. She knew you would hate her. We all did. But I never thought you would stoop to this level! You are an evil wench for breaking Tori's heart."

"I fucking didn't say anything like that. If you would listen to me –"

"Why?" Daphne shouted. "So you can lie to us? You have everyone here convinced you are the victim. Even me but not anymore. I am going to make sure of that. I am going to make sure everyone knows how pathetic you really are!"
