The summer weeks flew by. Luna and Blaise had gone to visit Newt Scamander a few days after Blaise's job offer. According to Blaise it was a very fascinating yet bizarre trip.
In his opinion Luna and Newt are very similar in personality. They both find it hard to fit in with others and prefer the company of animals. Newt found Luna's serene disposition and many eccentric beliefs and qualities to be charming. She was a complete nonconformist; she lacked self-consciousness and was not afraid to show who she truly was just like him.
Tina was interested to hear about the war from two people who had at first been on opposing sides.
Blaise told of a madman who was so out of touch with reality he thought himself to be superior to everyone and everything. A man who sought power above everything and who basically wanted to rule the world. A cold-blooded killer who had no redeeming characteristics.
Luna painted a picture of a boy who was alone. No one to love and guide him throughout his life. Abandoned at birth and brought up to believe he was nothing. Someone who craved a family of his own and who thought the only way to get a family was by force. Luna honestly believed that Lord Voldemort would have existed if Tom Riddle were shown more love, support and compassion.
Luna had such a compelling and strong argument that you almost believed her. Almost.
The young couple also met Tina's sister Queenie and Jacob her husband who book Blaise to a few antique stores and auctions during their visit and promised to visit the antique store when it had it grand opening.
The purpose of the visit was that Newt was looking for a successor. Someone to work alongside the Beast Division of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Luna would be helping out Hermione but where Hermione would deal with paperwork and legalising creatures and fighting for their rights protecting them. Luna would actually be caring for them. Breeding, feeding, temporarily homing and providing medical aid until they are ready to be released into the proper settings.
Newt also wanted Luna to take ownership of a selection of his creatures and had provided her with her very own purple case/purse with an undetectable extension charm, which housed her own shelter for the animals.
Luna was beyond excited. Newt had promised to visit as much as possible to help her out when needed but he was more than confident by the end of the visit that she would be fantastic at the job.
She came home after three weeks practically glowing and bursting to talk to someone about what she learnt. Thankfully you found it all just as fascinating as she did.
When they got back, Blaise had started to work right away in the shop. He had been up and down the country lately stocking up on various antiques for the store and it was coming together beautifully. Not that you ever doubted him. You knew he would be fantastic at this job.
Draco and Harry had both received their start dates for Auror training, which was for September 1st and Hermione was told she could start whenever she wanted. Her and Harry had decided to extend their trip by another few weeks to make the most of it.
You still had not figured out what you wanted to do. Kingsley on more than one occasion had asked you to come and work for him. It was intriguing you would admit but doing what?
You would love to be within the ministry to be close to Draco, Hermione and Luna but you didn't feel skilled enough for a certain department. Maybe you would speak to Kingsley later. He may have an idea in mind for you.
Not that you didn't have enough to keep you busy. You had the men's clothing range, which Narcissa was managing for you. You didn't have much to do as your dad had the business running as smooth as chocolate before he died.
