You are unaware of what time it is as you open your eyes the following morning but the sun has not rose high in the sky so you know it is early.
It takes you a few seconds to remember the previous nights events but as you slowly go over everything that happened you smile to yourself.
Draco had told you he loved you. He promised to never leave your side again. You turn around in the bed to watch him as he slept. He looked so peaceful. More so than he had in a long time.
He actually looked so peaceful that you didn't want to disturb him. Very gently you peel his arm off from where it lay across your stomach. All night, even in his sleep he held you as close to him as he could. And you loved every single second. You pulled back the covers and very slowly rose out of the bed, pulling the covers back up around Draco again so he wouldn't get cold.
You slip into the bathroom and quickly shower and brush your teeth. You stand in front of the mirror looking at your appearance. For moths you felt pale and unattractive. Everything just seemed – sad. But now there was colour in your cheeks and there was no hiding the smile on your face.
You slip out of the bathroom again and start to tip toe across the bedroom floor still trying to keep as quiet as possible.
"Morning love." Draco was lying in bed with his head resting on his arm.
You skipped across to him and leaned down to kiss him. "Good morning Draco. How did you sleep?"
"Better than I have a long time."
"I am glad to hear it."
"I meant what I said last night you know?"
"About what love?"
"About you being it for me. Not wanting anyone else. I love you Evee. You are the only girl I have ever really loved. I hate myself for what I did to you. The pain I caused you."
"Hey," you grab his face in your hands. "You did what you thought was best for your family. I may not agree with what you did but I can understand why. What really hurt was when you said that being with Astoria was easier than being with me."
"I meant in terms of having to deal with my father. Going along with what he wanted was easier than defying him. But with Astoria I didn't feel anything. I was numb. I convinced myself this was the life I deserved for hurting you. I wasn't happy, I felt nothing."
"That is no way to live Draco."
"I know that but my life without you was already miserable. I knew that I could never be as happy as I once was so why bother trying. Plus Astoria was a friggin yap!"
"Draco!" you scolded but you were smiling.
"She wasn't in love with me either. She was just lazy and wanted to marry rich to avoid having to work. Plus she was jealous of you and wanted what you had - boyfriend, money, friends, a house, everyone loving you. She was a bit of a brat most of the time. She knew how to manipulate people to get what she wanted."
"She was making the best of her situation. Like you were."
"Call it what you want but I am still glad to be rid of her."
"And you are sure that you want to stick with me?"
"I am more sure of us than anything else in our lives."
"Good. Now that I have you, I don't plan to let you go again. Now are you ready for breakfast?"
"Give me two minutes to shower and I will go down with you." He jumped out of bed and ran off to the bathroom as you opened the closet and stepped in to get dressed choosing a pair of black jeans and a green silk camisole top.
