The week was so busy that any plans to talk to Theo had to take a back seat. Since the night at the Manor, Theo had bought himself, Daphne, Ron, Pansy, Ginny, and even Phoenix phones just like ours so we could all communicate.
Or try to at least.
All week Theo and you had been missing each others phone calls. With him running a business and moving house and you trying to work and create designs for the shop, it seemed impossible to meet for a chat.
So you were very surprised to have Oakley knock on your door on Wednesday afternoon. The last day before the Christmas holidays.
"Miss Evee?"
"Just Evee Oakley. How can I help you?"
She blushed before answering. "Evee, a Mr Theodore Nott is here to see you."
"Oh great!" You smiled as Theo stepped through the door.
"Hi angel, sorry to drop by, but we keep missing each other, and I had to visit Mr Fallon in the Magical Co-operation department about trading standards. So I thought I would drop by."
You hugged him and kissed his cheek. "I am glad you did. I need to talk to you."
"Ok - fire away."
"Theo, I know that you have been looking into Jonathan's records here in The Ministry."
Theo's face paled, and he dropped himself down into the chair in front of your desk, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Oh... you know?"
His phone rang at that point, and he took it out of his pocket to answer
"Nott speaking...Clara...no tell them I am unavailable and cancel my meeting this evening. Something has come up. No one is to disturb me."
He didn't wait for an answer as he hung up.
"Theo, what is going on?"
"Ok, Ok. I will tell you. But at this point, it is just speculation, and it has to stay between us."
"Theo..." You started.
At that second, the door to your office opened, and Draco walked in, not looking ahead but instead at papers in his hand.
"Love, Harry needs your file on Brian Dobbs. Do you have -"
He looked up then as Theo gave a little wave.
"Oh, sorry, Theo, I didn't see you. What are you...Wait have you asked him about the records?"
"Draco knows too?"
"Yes, he was with me when I found out."
"Of course he was. Fine, then come in and close the door. I need to explain."
Draco did as he was asked and came around to your side of the desk, conjuring a chair and sitting down.
"Ok, don't freak out on me. I was in the records room leaving off the marriage details a while back, and I saw this scroll sitting on the counter with Jonathan's name on it."
He looked like a child confessing to its parents about being mischievous.
"So you being the nosey, ass that you are you opened it?" Draco smirked.
"Yes, I did."
"And?"
"Well, it talked about a daughter that he had. A little girl. Evee, I am sorry, but when you told us how close you were to him and how he had been there since you were born, I-"
