Naina was welcomed by a bunch of people, who stood at the school entrance to embrace her after a long time of distance. She reciprocated their hug with equal happiness and opened her bag to distribute the chocolates to everyone. Anjali, one of her classmates said ironically - "Kya yaar Naina, tu toh bade saste me nipat rahi hai, holidays ke beech tera birthday aa gaya iska matlab yeh nahi tu sirf chocolate de...we want a party."
"Anjali sahi keh rahi hai, tu sirf chocolate de kar humse humara haq nahi le sakti." Another classmate of Naina, Rudra, demanded.
"Uffo baba, maine kab mana kiya party dene se...yeh chocolate toh as a complimentary gift de rahi hoon," Naina told them with a sweet smile, and they readily accepted the tempting chocolates.
"Acha, toh fir theek hai...waise aaj raat hum tere ghar aaye kya sleepover ke liye?" Anjali asked the young girl with an excited smile.
"Haan bilkul, par pehle aai se permission le loon," Naina said meekly.
"Arey teri aai kyu mana karegi, hum tere friends hai yaar, chahiye toh mere ghar aa jaa...I don't have any problem." Anjali suggested.
"Sorry guys, main nahi aa paugi, meri aai allow nahi karegi." A timid-looking girl, Pratiksha said in a low voice.
"Teri aai toh tujhe kabhi allow nahi karti hai Pratu...do one thing, tell her ki exam ke liye tu mere ghar aa rahi hai study ke liye," Anjali told the girl with a wide smile, and Pratiksha looked skeptical after listening to such a life-risking idea.
"Nahi baba, meri aai ko pata chala na main jhoot bol kar aayi hoon, toh woh mujhe chodegi nahi." She uttered, in a scared tone, and chewed her lip.
"Yaar, tu kitni darpok hai...life me thoda bahut jhoot bolna is fine, aur teri aai ko bhi samjhna chahiye na...tu ab koi bachi nahi hai, badi ho rahi hai, it's ok if you go to your friend's place, what's harm in that?" Anjali said with an annoyed expression, and Rudra just mocked Pratiksha's scared-like-kitten face.
"If you want I will talk to aunty," Naina suggested, feeling empathy for the poor girl.
"No yaar, she won't listen," Pratiksha said in a slow voice.
"Chod is coward ko, apan plan banate hai kuch...teri aai ko bol dena we are coming to your place." Rudra looked at Naina with a jovial smile, and Pratiksha lowered her head in embarrassment, she also wanted to go to Naina's home, and have fun, but being restricted by her parents for useless outings. She can't even travel to her friend's place.
"Tu bhi aa raha hai?" Naina asked astonishingly.
"Haan, kyu? Tere ghar boys allowed nahi hai kya?" Rudra questioned or rather mocked her.
"Nahi, aisa kuch nahi hai...but tu hum sab ladkiyo ke beech akela acha nahi lagega na." Naina joked while giving a side-wink to Anjali.
"Hum sab kaun? Tu, anjali, aur main, Pratiksha kaha aa rahi hai?" Rudra said irritatingly.
"She will come, main aunty se baat karugi...and I'm planning on inviting my society friends too. Bahut maza aayega." Naina shared her plan with an enthusiastic smile, and Anjali said in a stern voice - "No way, tu aaj sirf humare saath party karegi, roz toh tu unse milti hi haina...aaj thoda hum pe bhi attention de de."
"Ok, ok...fine, so done, you guys are coming to my place in the evening. Alright?" Naina looked at everyone with an expectant expression, and Pratiksha didn't seem mirthful. She just walked away, making Rudra and Anjali joke about her cowardly demeanor.
"Kya yaar, kitni fattu hai yeh Pratu," Rudra commented.
"Rud, language please, and sabke parents humari tarah nahi hote hai, uske strict hai isliye bechari woh humare sath nahi aa pati kitni baar," Naina said in a soft voice and looked at her male bestie sharply.
