Naina had been helping her mother since evening with all the kitchen chores, and it surprised Sarita to the core. She knows her daughter from the first day. Naina never liked these domestic works, she has lived a luxurious lifestyle with everything served on the table. God knows what she wants to prove by doing something unbelievable.

"Kya baat hai aaj meri beti hume serve kar rahi hai," Nishikant exclaimed joyfully as Naina placed a hot fulka roti on his plate.

"Isme kya baba, roz aai karti haina, aaj maine socha main kar doon." Naina replied to him with a sweet smile, and Prashant doubted - "I feel zaroor ise koi baat manwani hai humse, itni helpful toh tu hai nahi."

"Baba." She whined, and Nishikant immediately scolded his elder son, making Naina grin - "Kya humesha meri bachi ke peeche lage rehte ho, abhi woh badi ho rahi hai. She has started to understand ki uski Aai kitna kaam karti hai subah se raat tak, isliye help kar rahi hogi."

"Bas aap mujhe hi suna lo sab," Prashant said gloomily.

"Ufffo band karo tum dono." Sarita looked at her husband and her son in annoyance.

Once dinner was served to everyone. Naina sat down on the vacant chair and glanced at her parents with a nervous smile. Prashant knew his sister was planning on exploding a bomb on them, but if he would say that right now. His father might throw him out of the house. Sighing dejectedly, he sat there quietly, waiting for the real fun to begin.

"Aai Baba, mujhe aap dono se kuch baat karni hai." Naina initiated the conversation in a soft voice.

"Haan bolo?" Nishikant encouraged his daughter while eating a spoonful of Dal Rice.

"Actually, jaha main dance seekhne jati hoon, waha ki ma'am ne mujhe aur mere partner ko suggest kiya hai ki hum Intra state dance competition me participate kare," Naina said in a low voice, and the expressions on everyone's faces scared the shit out of her.

"Pata hi tha mujhe, zaroor kuch permission leni hogi humse, warna tum aur kitchen me meri help karo," Sarita remarked waspishly.

"Tum kya chahti ho?" Nishikant calmly asked about his daughter's desire.

"I want to participate," Naina said nervously.

"What about your partner?" He questioned.

"He is interested as well, but sirf meri wajah se usne abhi tak apna decision nahi bataya." She answered her father truthfully, and Nishikant hummed while drinking water.

"Duet dance?" He asked her simply, and Sarita was annoyed by her husband's freedom-giving nature.

"Yyyyes," Naina uttered, in a meek tone.

"Theek hai!" Nishikant said gently.

"So, can I participate?" Naina asked her father with a hopeful smile.

"Why Not," Nishikant replied to her affirmatively.

"Nako, baba se permission li, mujhse kaun lega?" Sarita glanced at her daughter with a stern expression.

"Aapki kya advice hai?" Naina asked her in a soft voice, and Prashant wasn't able to hide his growing smile.

"Main permission nahi dungi," Sarita announced her decision with an ultimatum.

"Kyun?" Naina looked at her in frustration.

"Meri marzi, tum nahi jaogi matlab nahi jaogi," Sarita said stubbornly.
