29th May! A very interesting and heart-throbbing day for all the true Indian premier league lovers. It was the Final match tonight between two powerful teams, and Naina already made a wish to the Ganesha to make her favorite team win.
At exactly 8:00 Pm all the friends gathered at Sameer's place, sitting on the sofa with full concentration focused on the huge tv screen. Every couple sat beside each other, and the singles were aligned in corners, munching on the cheese onion lays. They saw the opposite team exercising with the bat before the game commenced, and Naina curiously asked her boyfriend - "Tumhe kya lagta hai kaun jeetega aaj final?"
"I think blue wali jeetegi." Sameer guessed while chewing his thumbnail.
"Haina? Mujhe bhi yahi lagta hai, wahi jeetni chahiye hai." Naina said with an enthusiastic smile.
"Shhh match shuru hogaya hai, sab chup raho," Radhika told the gossip mongers with a strident expression, and they nodded, focusing on the ongoing match.
The opposite team was hitting sixes and fours back to back, and they scored 65 runs in the powerplay. Naina melancholy glanced at her boyfriend, and told him while pulling his shirt sleeve - "Kuch karo na Sameer...aise yeh log khelenge toh score 200+ ho jayega."
"Main kya karu isme?" Sameer asked her with a perplexed face.
"Kuch hota nahi tumse, ek wicket nahi jaa raha." Naina chided him illogically, and he looked at her, totally baffled by her childish antics.
"Main jaa raha hoon." He said in a stern voice, getting up from the sofa.
"Kyun?" She asked him with a pout.
"Tum meri jaan kha rahi ho in logo ke peeche. Yeh sab fixing hota hai, we can't do anything." Sameer replied to her with a miffed face, and Naina abjectly lowered her head, cursing him under her breath - "Pata sabko hota hai ki fixing hai but still we cheer up for our favorite teams, but is akdu ko kaun samjhaye, sab me logic dhund ne ko chahiye hai is Engineer ko."
"Oye kya bol rahi hai?" He tugged his finger under her chin while staring at her with a knowing look.
"Kuch nahi shona, tum baitho yahi I won't say anything," Naina assured him with a cute smile, and Sameer was unconvinced by her promise but still he sat down in his place, watching the advertisements playing on the screen.
"Yaar yeh log balling sahi se nahi kar rahe hai," Sonali said furiously.
"Jake tu daal de ball." Sagar smacked her head, glowering at her.
"Kaash yeh possible hota meri jaan, sab abhi tak out hogaye hote," Sonali said with a proud smile.
"Haa kyuki match shuru hota hi nahi." Sagar sneered at his girlfriend's imaginative scenes, and they heard everyone giggling.
"Zyada bola na toh case kar dungi tumpe." Sonali threatened him in a stern voice.
"Kiska case? Tujhse pyaar karne ka?" Sagar nuzzled his nose against her rough hair while wrapping his arm around her shoulder, and Sonali blushed to the roots, looking everywhere but at him.
"Guys please, kitna bolte ho tum log match pe concentrate karo na." Radhika scolded them with a stressed look.
"Tune kahi match pe paise wagera toh nahi lagaye haina?" Aditya asked his girlfriend with a solemn expression.
"Pagal hai kya?" Radhika glared at him for saying useless things.
"Tera match ko leke itna dedication dekh kar mujhe yahi laga." Aditya guffawed, placing his finger on his lips as once again his lioness murdered his confidence through her fatal eyes.
