Naina wasn't able to decide what should she do with her and Sameer's broken relationship, she wanted to reconcile their friendship as well but some unknown apprehensions were holding her back. She paced around the room, fiddling with her bracelet beads, and her eyes went to her cell phone lying on the nightstand. She approached the electronic device and dialed someone's number with hope in her heart that this person would clear all her doubts.
"Hi." She uttered, in a soft voice.
"Hello, kaisi hai?" Sonali said gently.
"I am good, tu kaisi hai?" Naina asked her.
"I am fine too, bas padhai ka stress hai," Sonali spoke vexedly.
"Oh, don't stress yourself, everything will be fine," Naina assured her in a feeble voice.
"Yeah I know, tu bata, all good?" She asked.
"Waise sab good hai, but there's one problem," Naina said hesitantly.
"Bol?" Sonali encouraged her to speak.
"You know na maine aur sameer ne breakup kar liya hai." Naina started to speak, walking toward the adjoined balcony.
"Haan I know," Sonali said normally.
"Toh ab kya karu?" She asked her with a clueless face, wandering her tiny eyeballs on her hanging clothes.
"What do you mean?" Sonali sounded quite confused and infuriated too at her dimwit best friend.
"I mean...I don't know uske saath patch up karu ya jo chal raha hai waise chal ne doon." Naina spoke with a pale face, rubbing her soft palm on her breezy cheek to bring some heat to her shuddering body.
"Yeh kya behuda sawal pooch rahi hai tu? Of course, you should patch up with him." Sonali chided her in a strident voice, pressing her fingers on her temple while gently closing the Law Book.
"Are you sure?" Naina confirmed.
"Do one thing, don't patch up with him," Sonali suggested.
"Just now you advised me to patch up with him, aur ab keh rahi hai na karu?" Naina asked her irately, resting her hand on the railing while shutting her eyes in response.
"Haan toh aur kya karu? Jab tu itni doubtful hai apne aur sameer ke rishte ko lekar toh aur kya hi kahu main? Jis relationship me doubts ho na it's better woh rishta na nibhaya jaye." Sonali spoke with a miffed face, resting her head against the pillow, thinking why she had such a clueless and indecisive girl as her best friend.
"Yaar, tu toh samjh kam se kam ki main kis situation me hun is waqt. I am not confused...I am just clueless." Naina hissed in annoyance on the call, and let out a deep breath.
Sonali ran her free hand through the tangles of her lush black hair, contemplating her friend's confusing question, and after deep introspection, she said sensibly - "Why? Jab tujhe pata hai you love sameer, and sameer also love you phir kis baat ki tension hai? Jahan tak baat gharwalo ki hai toh dekh behen, kisi ki family me especially girls ke relationship ke related jaldi nahi manta koi. Agree kar ya na kar, but yahi riwaaz chalta aa raha hai aaj tak. You'd need to convince your parents, har roz, pyaar se, samjhdaari se, patiently...don't try to threaten them, saying ki main apni jaan de dungi, ghar chod dungi, ya phir aap logo se rishta tod dungi. It's so ridiculous, you know? Parents apno bacho se pyaar karte hai but unka pyar ek limit tak hi hota hai, so better you deal with them understandingly."
Sensing complete silence dripping from other's side because Naina might be pondering over her words, She continued sharing her rational thoughts - "Yaar, mere ghar me bhi mujhe pata hai sagar se mera rishta accept nahi honewala jaldi. Because he's a gujju guy and I'm a Marathi girl, but iski wajah se main use toh nahi chod sakti na? Hum koshish karege apne apne parents ko manane ki...maane toh acchi baat hai, warna koi aur rasta sochenge, tu bhi janti hai aaj kal ki duniya me kya kya new trends nikle hai. Friends With Benefits, Hookups, One Night Stand and whatnot, we are lucky meri jaan that we have such partners who are loyal to us and love us a lot. Please please please mat chod yaar sameer ko."
