Naina was lying on her stomach on the bed while whispering in sheer pain as the menstrual cycle welcomed her body in the evening. She didn't want to take any pain relief medicine which is why she has been enduring this physical torture for the last six hours, and as time is passing by her mental exhaustion is amplifying. She rested her head on the pillow, her eyes swollen red because of her unstoppable cries and sobs, and suddenly she felt a sharp stroke of pain on her lower back which caused her to press her chapped lips harder while her fingers clutched the sides of the cushion cover.

Naina can't believe this time her periods turned out to be so deadly painful for her delicate body. Mostly every month it comes and goes and she doesn't even realize it, but this time it's not just giving her physical torment but also making her feel battered. Since evening she has made countless trips to the washroom to release the shower of liquid who was the sole reason behind her extreme affliction.

Her phone chimed aloud to grab her attention, and Naina helplessly sprawled her hand on the bed to find her mobile. She hasn't used this electronic device for six hours, and only she knew why.

She fetched the phone from the nightstand and weakly touched the green button while keeping the call on speaker mode so that she doesn't have to tuck the cellphone on her ear and hold it carefully.

"Naina, where are you yaar? Kabse tumhe call kar raha hoon." Sameer's worried voice rang in the vicinity and Naina replied to him in a low voice - "Sorry! I got periods."

There was a pin drop silence from his side and she wondered if he felt awkward because she mentioned a taboo topic and perhaps he found it uncomfortable being a man. But once again she was proven wrong as he said gently - "Oh, I am sorry, how are you feeling? Pain toh nahi haina?"

"Bahut hai yaar," Naina said meekly.

"Kyu? Humesha toh nahi hota hai." Sameer asked her with furrowed eyebrows.

"I don't know, shaam se lower back, stomach wagera sab pain ho rahe hai," Naina told him annoyingly.

"Medicine li?" He asked her in a soft voice.

"No." She uttered, in a low voice.

"Kyun?" Sameer questioned.

"Aise hi, mujhe aadat nahi hai medicine lene ki, and I don't even like its smell," Naina replied to him with a pinch of bitterness in her voice, and heard him huffing out a breath.

"Haa jaise hum toh bahut shauk se dawaiya lete hai, humein toh uska taste bahut pasand hai. I love medicines." Sameer said sarcastically while rolling his eyes at his girlfriend's tantrums, and she pouted.

"Yaar, aaj toh na daanto kam se kam, I am in pain na." She spoke in a babyish tone while burying her face into the velvety cushion.

"Fine, but medicine le lo na, kyu itni takleef dekh rahi ho," Sameer told her in a tender voice as he pitied her condition despite being miles away.

"Nahi leni mujhe medicine, mera mann na kuch peene ka ho raha hai...tempting aur chocolate related," Naina said vexedly while shutting her tired eyes in response.

"Kya peena hai tumhe?" Sameer asked her.

"Chocolate Milkshake!" Naina said with a glimmer in her eyes at the delicious image of her favorite dessert which appeared in her mind.

"Okay...aur kuch?" He questioned.

"Nahi bas itna hi." She replied.

"Acha, main washroom se aata hoon do minute me." Sameer apprised her before disconnecting the call, and Naina just hummed.
