"Kya hua?" Pratiksha came to ask her friend who seemed lost and scared.

"Kuch nahi," Naina replied to her in a low voice.

"Jhoot mat bol, bata kya hua hain?" Pratiksha asked her while keeping her dusky-toned hand on her shoulder, staring at her worriedly.

"Nothing, chal bahar." Naina pushed aside her thoughts and started to walk ahead, but her movements looked disoriented.

"Ajeeb hai, suddenly kya hogaya hai ise?" Pratiksha looked at her schoolmate in confusion but decided to stop her interrogation and accompany the lost girl to the stage.

As soon as Naina came into Sameer's restive sight, he stood up, rushing to hold her tender hand as an unknown fear knocked on the door of his heart when his wife took more than five minutes to come. He stared at her, guilt overpowering his senses, and asked her softly - "Tum theek ho jaan?"

"Haa, tum itne pareshan kyun dikh rahe ho?" Naina replied to him gently.

"Aise hi tumhe thodi der lag gayi na aane me, aur phir maine tumhari taraf sharad ko bhi jaate hue dekha tha," Sameer said worriedly, his fingers squeezing the softness out of her flawless skin.

Her eyes shot up wide in response, heart beating vigorously in the tension of telling Sameer what that clown had told her a minute ago. Undoubtedly this time Sharad won't be able to leave this venue without getting himself fractured badly if Sameer would get to know how he cursed her.

"Kuch kaha kya us joker ne?" He asked her with more pressure in his firm voice, and Naina slightly shook her head, saying - "Tum uski baaton par dhyan mat do, he is mad."

"Matlab usne kuch kaha hai," Sameer said with exasperation.

"Jaane do na, humein kya fark padhta hai woh kuch bhi bole ya kare?" Naina replied to him with a lighthearted smile and patted her other hand on his sweaty one to console him.

"Usne tumhe kuch nahi kaha haina?" Sameer questioned softly.

"Nahi, kaha bhi hota toh mujhe aata hai use jawab dena," Naina said confidently, however, her heart refused to share the story of uncertainty budding within her heart.

"Good Girl." Meekly smiling at his wife, Sameer guided her to sit comfortably on the sofa, meanwhile his gaze kept hovering over the loaded space, searching for a particular man with aggression wildly alerting his calm eyes.

Although he pretended to be okay with whatever lies Naina told him, his heart knew she was hiding something behind her deceptive orbs, and he would surely find out.

"Namrata nahi aayi?" Trying to distract his mind. Naina asked him with a glimmering smile on her face.

"I don't know," Sameer said normally, currently not interested in finding out why Namrata didn't attend the reflection. All that he wanted to see right now was Sharad.

"Pucho phir use." Naina insisted.

"Kyun? Kaha tha na tumne use ki reception attend kare, ab woh aaye ya na aaye woh uski marzi hai." Sameer replied to her in an unfriendly tone while relentlessly drumming his right foot on the carpet.

Naina's jaw touched the ground in flabbergast when she heard such unfiltered bitterness dripping in his voice regarding Namrata and her absence, and wondered if they had a fight about which she isn't aware.

"Theek Hain." Dismissing the inutile topic. Naina said in a gentle voice, blowing a fresh breeze through her mouth on her long wavy cascading hair which was resting on the front side of her chest.
