Naina reached her home with a straight countenance, not willing to let her parents doubt that she was blushing. She nervously dabbed the handkerchief on her sweating skin and walked inside with a delightful smile. Nishikant gave a warm hug to his daughter who looked like a grown-up and traditional woman in the saree. He pecked her forehead, and asked her - "How was your farewell party beta?"
"It was too good, Baba...we had so much fun," Naina replied to him with a wide smile.
"That's good! Photos wagera li ke nahi?" He asked enthusiastically, and Prashant joined the duo.
"Kya ho raha hai?" He questioned while lazily slipping his body on the sofa.
"Dada, mere farewell pictures dekhne hai?" Naina looked at her brother with an excited smile, and Prashant teased her - "Ab ek hi chudail ko baar baar kya dekhna?"
The moment Prashant joked with her, Naina was reminded of Sameer. How he always mocks her but secretly praises her beauty and intelligence...A soft smile adorned her lips, and Nishikant gently asked her - "Kaha kho gayi tum? Jaldi se photos dikhao."
"Mere bina hi?" Sarita's stern voice faded the colors from their jovial faces.
"Of course not Aai, I told Baba ki aai ko aane do fir dikhaugi pictures...but he kept insisting." Naina threw the whole blame on her poor father, who immediately looked at her in utter helplessness. She silently apologized to him, and Nishikant exhaled in fear.
"22 saal kya hogaye shadi ko, aap toh mujhe bhul ne lag gaye," Sarita complained about her husband with a puppy face, and Prashant and Naina couldn't hide their smiles.
"Kya kabhi insaan saans lena bhool sakta hai?" Nishikant asked his wife, quite romantically, and Sarita negatively shook her head.
"Kya koi andhere me bina sahare ke chal sakta hai?" He questioned, and His wife kept shaking her head.
"Toh main apni Sarita ko kaise bhool sakta hoon?" Nishikant looked at her with the profoundness of love in his old eyes, and Sarita was slightly emotional for being blessed with such a loving partner. They kept looking at each other like it was their first time, and Naina desired nothing but just for a person like her father who could love her unconditionally and immensely throughout their whole life. She flattened her painted lips for a sweet smile, and her meek eyes kept staring at her romantic parents.
"Aai Baba, we are also here." Prashant's naughty voice alerted the love birds, and They quickly pulled apart.
"So what? Maa baap ko dekh kar hi toh bache bhi apne partner se pyaar karna sikhege." Nishikant said with a bright smile and glanced at his wife who was blushing like a newly married girl.
"Baba is absolutely right...you know, mujhe bhi bilkul aapki tarah pyaar karne wala aur understanding wala partner chahiye hai. Someone who can love me as you do to my beautiful aai." Naina embraced her father with tenderness in her voice, and Nishikant lovingly held the delicate girl in his protective arms, saying - "Zaroor milega beta, in fact, mujhse bhi acha milega tumhe."
"Kya zamana aagaya hai, abhi tak college me bhi nahi aayi yeh...aur shadi ki planning shuru kar di. Waah." Prashant remarked playfully and got a light smack on his head from his father.
"Baba," Naina whined like a baby, and Nishikant slapped Prashant once again for pestering the poor girl. She tittered, and Prashant glared at his sister for always complaining about him to their parents.
"Sometimes I wonder ki kahi mujhe kisi mandir ke seediyon se toh nahi laya gaya haina. So much injustice." Prashant made a sad face while looking at the smiling couple, and Naina replied - "Maybe Yes."
