"Haa, kal dupeher 2 baje tak aana hai aapko, koi bahana nahi chalega Ok, chalo bye, milte hai kal." Nishikant hung up the call with no smile on his face as this ceremony was done without his consent. He might have agreed to this alliance for the sake of his daughter's happiness but in reality, he wasn't happy at all. He wanted to find a rich well-settled family for Naina, but as said, A person in love cannot understand what is right and what is wrong for them. The same quote fits his daughter too.

Sarita was also inviting their close relatives for tomorrow's Tilak ceremony over the call, and neither she was happy nor sad. She was just relaxed over the fact that Nishikant, whether delightfully or reluctantly, at least agreed to give a chance to Sameer, and that was enough for her to enjoy this special event.

After making back-to-back calls to everyone. Both of them retired to the bed, exhaling exhaustedly. Nishikant kept his specs in the box, and veered at his wife, asking her - "Sabko invitation de diya tumne?"

"Haa, par Vasu Tai khush nahi lag rahi thi," Sarita said with a dejected face.

"Kyun?" Nishikant asked her in confusion as he still didn't know that Tripti's alliance was sent for Sameer.

"Umm actually Tripti ka rishta leke gaye the woh Sameer ke ghar pe, but he refused because he loves Naina." Sarita revealed the secret in a meek tone, and his calm expression morphed into shock.

"Tripti? She loves him?" Nishikant questioned while cringing his eyebrows.

"I have no idea, Nish," Sarita said normally.

"Then find out." He looked at her in disbelief.

"I don't think Tripti Sameer se pyar karti hai...as much as I remember Tripti told me ki woh log aise hi uske ghar rishta leke gaye the because they think Sameer is a nice man." Sarita told her husband while deeply recollecting the words delivered by her niece, and Nishikant knitted his brows in utter surprise and astonishment. He can't believe Atrekar's family wanted to make Sameer their Son-in-law, that too willingly. It's out of the box for him. Had he got a chance to switch the groom for Naina he would have done that earlier, but he wasn't lucky enough to do that.

"Ajeeb hai, main toh kabhi nahi karta meri beti ka rishta us ghar me." Nishikant said while chuckling weakly.

"Haa woh toh mujhe bhi pata hai, ab bhi tum is rishtey se khush nahi ho," Sarita spoke brusquely.

"Kaha se houga khush? Kaha mere sapne the ki ek damad lauga par aisa lauga ki sab tareef kare, rich, maybe an NRI, educated family jinki reputation ho sabke saamne na ki Sameer ki family jaisi...jinko koi izzat bhi nahi deta hai." Nishikant expressed his disappointment with utmost bitterness in his voice, and Sarita unbelievably stared at her husband.

"Tum please kal waha function me yeh sab baatein mat karna kisi ke saamne," Sarita warned her husband in sheer annoyance as she knew how displeased Nishikant was for not getting his desired son-in-law.

"I am not a fool Sarita, aur waise bhi Raut family ka past sab jante hain, woh khud surprised ho jayege kal yeh dekh kar ki Dr.Nishikant Mhatre ka damad yeh middle class ladka Sameer banne wala hain." He answered his wife in a stern voice while fuming in explicit rage, and Sarita narrowed her eyes at him, wondering why he can't see goodness in Sameer? What was making him hate that poor guy so much?

Perhaps his father's past.

Perhaps their bad reputation in front of society.

Or perhaps the fact that they're not as rich and famous as Mhatre's.
