Aspen and Bucky drive back to the compound separately, but they had the same mission. They sped the entire way back and Aspen pulled up to the house first. She raced inside and went to her room. She needed to take a breather and try to comprehend what had just happened and how she felt about it before Bucky got there. And It wasn't too long before she heard his footsteps thundering through the empty mansion.

Bucky had been thinking his entire way back to the compound. He was trying to wrap his head around everything. And he couldn't put how he felt about Aspen into words. He could, but he was afraid the words he had would scare her away. He found his way to her room and the door was open. She was standing in the middle of her room looking at the floor, she was biting her nails nervously. She did this often. It was a habit he was trying to get her to break.

When she felt his pretense, she looked up to see him standing in the doorway. She walked over to him. Both of the breathing heavily. Neither of them saying a word. He walked into the room and she moved past him to shut the door behind him. She stood with her back to the door and he was facing her now. They looked into each other's eyes intensely. Both of them scared to say the first word. But one of them had to.

"Aspen..." Bucky whispered out. Hearing her name so softly from his lips made her melt. She blushed slightly and gave him a small, sweet, smile. One that made him fall hard. Even harder if possible. "Jamie..." she whispered back to him. Something about her calling him Jamie struck him differently. It was sweet, innocent, and it was something only she could call him, like James. Only she was allowed to call him that.

He couldn't help it. He crashed his lips to hers and they pulled each other as close as they possibly could. He picked her up and her legs instinctively wrapped around his waist. He walked so her back was against the door all the way and they went feral. Their kiss was deep and passionate. Their tongues and lips moving in unison. Like they were meant to do this. And they continued like this until neither of them could breath.

The unspoken words being they wouldn't go any further. Not yet. So when they needed to come up for air, Aspen decided to not tempt them any further and get them out of a room alone together. "Can we get some air?" Aspen asks. Bucky nods and they walk out of her room, nobody else was there still. They went outside and sat on the couch on the porch together.

Aspen is the first to speak this time. After looking down at her fingers and pulling in them, she finally looks up to meet Bucky's eyes. "Bucky... what does this mean?" Aspen asks him. He smiles and laughs to himself a little bit. Because both of them knew that northern of them really had the answer to her question. "I don't know." Bucky says. And Aspen had already known he was going to say that.

"I..." he starts again. "I like you Aspen. I like kissing you." He says. "And I'd like to do it again. If you like it too." He tells her. He looks at her, trying to read her like he always did. "I do." Aspen says. "I-I really do." She says. "So what do we do?" Bucky asks her. "We played off that kiss from truth or dare. But if Steve knew the way I feel about you Bucky..." Aspen starts. Knowing she doesn't have to finish her sentence.

They both knew Steve would be livid if he knew that the kiss wasn't just truth or dare. And he seemed to at least be trying to believe it at the bar. He wasn't convinced but he was on his way to being convinced. So they couldn't he lord suspicious about it. "Then we don't let him find out." Bucky says. Easier said than done. "...we can try." Aspen says.

They sit there silent for a few more minutes. Aspen lays her head on Bucky's shoulder and he leans into her. He starts to laugh to himself a little and Aspen picks her head up looking at him. He smiles and looks at her with complete adoration. "How exactly do you feel about me Aspen?" He asks completely serious.

"I don't know really." Aspen says. She still couldn't put into words how she felt. Just like Bucky she was afraid she would scare him off if she told him how she felt. "All I know is...you've always been there for me." She says. "I feel safe when I'm with you. I want to protect you. Even though I know you can protect yourself. You don't need me. I just want to be there for you. All the time. And when I have nightmares...you're there helping me out of them." Bucky smiles at Aspen and his eyes urge her to continue because he can't tell she's not done.

"And when we kissed..." she continued like her hoped she would. "I felt like I was floating. I felt..." She couldn't quite put her finger on it and she looked to Bucky for answers. To help her finish her sentence. He knew exactly what she was doing and they both laughed for a moment about it. About how they knew, without even having to speak what they other was thinking or wanted to say. "I felt home." Bucky said. "Me too..." Aspen whispered back to him.
