Aspen had decided to go to the bar because she knew Bucky was going to be there. She was pissed at Steve still, as she should be. So she decided to drive herself and leave Steve to drive himself as well. When she got there, everyone else was there except Steve.
She immediately locked eyes with Bucky from across the bar and she smiled. He smiles back as Aspen makes her way over to them. She sits at the empty bar stool next to Bucky and he hands her his beer to finish, he could see in her eyes that she was having a rough night. He didn't know why, but he was sure she'd tell him later. But for now he'd comfort her how he could.
"Well look who finally decided to join us." Wanda says jokingly as she sees Aspen sit down. "I figured I'd try and get drunk even though I know I can't." Aspen tells her as she downs the rest of bucky's beer. Tony takes a drink of his martini as he eyes Aspen. Bucky rolls his eyes and scoots closer to Aspen. "Where's your big brother?" Tony asks her.
"Right here." Steve says as he walks through the door over to where everyone was sitting. Bucky had already gotten another beer and when Aspen saw Steve walk in, she had already taken it. "Great." She says and proceeds to drink it. She gives it back to Bucky, who finishes it off. Everyone had noticed how Aspen and Bucky were communicating without actually having to talk except Steve.
They picked up how they knew exactly what to say or do based on a slight gesture, movement or face the other had made. Natasha looked at the two interacting with one another and decided to help out on their verbal communications since they hadn't said s word to each other yet. Even though they didn't need to. "Aspen you look great tonight." Just says.
Aspen was wearing a tight black mini dress. It was modest enough to cover what needed to be covered but it showed her form enough to make everyone around her's jaw drop. Her hair was up in a clip, it was messy but it was cute. And she wore thigh high boots to cover more of her skin. Because part of her was still in the forties, when women had to cover themselves or they'd be frowned upon.
"Right Bucky?" Natasha asks. She smirks at Woden and looks to Bucky innocently. Like she didn't know exactly what she was doing. Bucky looked at Aspen and looked her up and down. As if he hadn't already checked her out the moment he saw her walk through the doors. As soon as he saw her and her smile, his eyes lingered to the rest of her. To drink her in. "Yea. She always looks great." Bucky says.
He completely ignored the fact that Steve was right there, because even though Aspen cared, he didn't. Of course he cared about what his best friend thought, but he knew Steve would come around eventually. Aspen knew it deep down too, but there was the sibling rivalry, and part of her did love intentionally fucking with her older brothers head. Bucky was just there, doing his thing, and being who his was, not apologizing for it but also not trying to throw it in anyones face.
Steve scoffed and looked away from them. He had been getting tired of the obvious flirting, especially in front of the team. He felt Aspen and Bucky were making a fool of him because everyone knew where he stood about them even being near one another. And he didn't want everyone to think Steve was just being and ass. He had his reasons.
Aspen ignored Steve too and looked up at Bucky. "So do you James." She tells him and smiles. He smiles back at her, blushing slightly and they just stare at each other for a moment. "Anyone else want some of this Asgardian drink?" Thor asks, pulling them from their trance of one another. "Oh me please." Aspen says. She knew the drink was extremely strong and wanted to see if it made a dent of her high metabolism.
"How much?" Thor asks her. "All of it." Aspen says nonchalantly. Thor looks at her surprised and chuckles thinking she's going. "I don't know if you can handle all of it." He tells her. "I'm a big girl. I can handle it." She tells him and takes the drink. She drinks it down and doesn't bat and eye. And it does nothing. She was still sober. She sighed and looked at everyone looking at her wondering what the hell was wrong with her.
"Are you okay?" Bucky whispers to her. Trying not to let anyone else hear it. "I'm fine." Aspen says. Avoiding eye contact. She only did that when she didn't want to tell him what was going on in that moment. "No you're not. What's wrong?" Bucky asks her. "Your best friend is my problem." Aspen tells him making eye contact again.
Bucky tilts his head and his eyes plead to her. He wants to help her. "What do you need? Do you want to leave? I can take you-" Bucky starts but gets interrupted by Sam. "I feel we should make this a little interesting." Sam says. Aspens attention shifts to Sam but Bucky's stays in Aspen. Aspen feels his eyes in her and looks back at him. "I'm fine Jamie." Aspen tells him. She only calls him Jamie when she's being sweet to him or when she's upset.
Bucky instantly picks up on it. "What did you call me?" he asks her. She looks over to Nat who had started to say something. "I agree. There's too much tension in here." She says. Referring to Aspen and Bucky's obvious tension and Aspen and Steve's anger. "I'm assuming we're about to play our favorite stir drama game?" Clint asks laughing slightly.
"Truth or dare." Tony clarifies, because he could see Aspen Steve and Bucky's confusion, they hadn't played this with the team before. But it was a tradition to them. "Oh this is going to be amazing." Aspen says laughing. Steve looks at Aspen and could see how reckless she was being and he took a deep breath, and prepared for whatever could happen in this game.
