It had been a week since Aspen and Bucky talked to Tony. They had mingled a little through-out the week but for the most part they kept to themselves. They were both relieved about Tony already knowing and taking it so well. Him being so understanding and not wanting to put them through any more than they already had been. They were grateful for him taking the high road.
They were shocked that he was so okay with everything and not only did he forgive them for this but he reassured them that it wasn't their fault. He was supportive and he cared whether or not they believed that it really wasn't their fault.
And now, Tony was throwing a party. Everyone was having fun, laughing, drinking. Aspen and Bucky walked in, Thor flirting with a random woman, Bruce being awkward, Tony telling stories and being the star of the show. Steve and Sam playing pool together. Steve kicking Sam's ass, as usual. Like he had been a lot lately. Taking Sam under his wing and kicking his ass at everything they did to help push him to do better.
Bucky and Aspen sat next to each other on the couch. Bucky put his arm around Aspen and pulled her onto his lap. He wrapped his arms around her waist, her head turned to the side to look at Bucky, he looked at her, smiling, he leaned in and kissed her nose, she smiled and laughed at him, then they turned and looked at everyone.
"I can't believe Tony threw a party because you're related." Bucky says, looking back at Aspen, she looks back at him, running her hands through his hair as they talked to one another. "He throws a party for everything babe." Aspen said, chuckling. Not being able to contain her smile as she looked at Bucky, like it was their first time meeting all over again. Even though they'd known each other forever.
"You should know this by now." Aspen adds, still smiling and laughing. "I guess I should." Bucky says, smiling back at her. He looks at her as she looks around the room at everyone and everything going on. "Do you like it?" He asks her. That was all that mattered. Was wether or not she liked it. It didn't matter that he hated being around so many people. If she was happy, so was he.
"Yea, I like hanging out with everyone and I feel better." Aspen tells him. He felt better because now he knew that she felt better. "Good." Bucky says. "Do you want anything to drink?" Bucky asks Aspen. "I'm okay." She tells him. She looks back over to where Steve and Sam are and she thinks about how Bucky is always with her.
She didn't want him to miss out on times with him friends for her. She wanted him to branch out and she felt bad he only wanted to be with her all the time. She loved it, it was adorable, but she had her friends, and she wanted him to have his friends.
"Why don't you go talk to Steve and Sam?" She asks him. "Go have fun." She tells him. He shakes his head at her, as if it was the most absurd suggestion in the world. "I have fun with you. I want to be with you." Bucky tells her. Aspen's bottom lip pokes out and she audibly 'aww's.
"Aww love." Aspen says. She puts her hand on Bucky's cheek and leans in, kissing his forehead. She loved this man more than life. As she looks at him in absolute awe and adoration, she sees Steve approaching them out of the corner of her eye.
"Looks like you don't have to go anywhere anyway. Stevie's here." Aspen tells Bucky. Patting his cheeks twice and kissing his nose. "Hey. How're you feeling Aspen?" Steve says as he finally gets over to them.
Aspen tries to wiggle off Bucky's lap, but fails as Bucky holds onto her tighter than before. "A lot better. What've you been up to?" Aspen asks Steve. "Putting Sam through hell." Steve tells Aspen and Bucky. "Beating him at pull and training." Steve says.
Aspen had noticed how Steve had taken sam under his wing and they were becoming closer. "He looks up to you Steve." Aspen tells him. "It's good you're helping him." She says. "Buck, how're you?" Steve asks, looking over to Bucky. "I'm good." Steve says, he looks at Aspen and smiles. "Asp is here so I'm okay." Bucky tells Steve.
"I'm not here. I'm gonna go talk to Nat and Wanda. Talk to Steve baby, I'll be back." Aspen tells them. She wiggles off of Bucky's lap and turns around. Putting her hands on his thighs right before his knees and looking him in the eyes, leaning in and pressing a soft peck on his lips.
"I wanna come with you." Bucky tells her. "I'll be back, okay?" She tells him. "Ten minutes tops. Talk to Steve." She says. "I love you." She adds. He grabs the sides of her face and pulls her lips to his, her knees go wake for a moment and she falters, her hands move from his legs to the sides of his face, steadying herself and pulling his lips closer to hers.
He slides his tongue into her mouth and kisses her deeply, she returns the kiss and after a moment, pulls away. "I love you." Bucky tells her. "They're going outside now so be careful, stay with them." Bucky tells her, leaning in kissing his lips softly one more time. "Mhm. Yes daddy." She tells him, her lips lingering over his for a second before she looks at him one more time and walks away, leaving Steve and Bucky alone together.
Bucky wasn't sure he heard correctly, watching Aspen walk away, he was confused. "What?" He asked, looking at Steve. Steve had heard the exact same thing Bucky did. "You know there are some thing I just don't need to hear." Steve tells Bucky.
