Wedding day

Aspen and Steve sat at a diner together. Aspens hair was up in her curled up-do, her makeup- everything but her lipstick- was done. She was wearing her white bridal robe with a white spaghetti strap crop top and white sweatpants under, white shoes to match. It was very on point with bridal tradition, she was determined to look stylish but like a bride before, during and after the wedding.

Steve was wearing his all black tux and waiting for Aspen to speak. When he came to check in her at the venue, all she said was 'I'm hungry' and she made Steve drive her to the diner, which was only five minutes away from the venue, and she knew they would be back in time for the ceremony, they still had several hours before it started and all she needed to do at that point was put on her dress and her lipstick.

Steve was concerned though. He thought Aspen was running from her wedding and he had no idea why. She hadn't said much to him, he didn't have anything to go off of. This wedding, marrying Bucky, it was something she had wanted for as long as she could remember and Steve knew that, so he was confused and concerned.

He let her order to get that out of the way and while they were waiting on her food he began to question her. "Do you wanna tell me why you ran away from your wedding?" He asked. Aspen rolls her eyes and shakes her head at him. "I didn't run anyway. I still have a few hours until i have to walk down the aisle." Aspen tells him.

The waitress brings aspens food a minute later and she starts digging in immediately. She really was hungry. "All i need to do is put my dress on." She adds with a mouth full of food. "I'm hungry." She says as she continues eating. Steve wasn't buying it at first.

But then he saw how serious she was. And he knew his little sister. He knew she wouldn't miss her wedding with Bucky for anything. And he knew. He already knew. He had known since he went to check on her. But he didn't put two and two together until just now. She really did leave because she was hungry and she wasn't running away, she would go back, after she ate.

Steve laughed and shook his head at Aspen. "What?" Aspen asked with a mouth full of food. Again. "You left because you're hungry?" He asked for confirmation. He wanted to make sure. "I didn't leave. I'm going back but I'm hungry." Aspen told him again, raising her voice now. She was getting annoyed. And she had a short fuse lately.

Steve smiles at his little sister. "Are you nervous?" He asked her. He knew she wasn't running, but that didn't mean she wasn't nervous. "No." She says easily. And she meant it. She saw Steve was still questioning if a little bit. "Everything's perfect." She tells him. "I'm marrying Bucky." And she meant it.

She had no reason to be nervous or second guess anything. This was all she ever wanted. She wanted a life with him, a family, marriage. And she was getting all of that. After today, they would have everything they had ever wanted.

"I'm just fucking starving." She told him. Which was true. She didn't care she had to put on her wedding dress in two hours, her dress fit perfectly and she didn't believe in the whole not eating to fit into your dress thing. She would wear her robe if the dress didn't fit, as long as she got to marry Bucky.

"Alright," Steve says. There was no sarcasm behind it. His voice didn't hint that he didn't believe her, because he did. But Aspen was still defensive. She really didn't want Steve to think she was running away from the wedding or from Bucky because she wasn't.

"Just let me eat in peace so we can go back." She tells him. She was nearly finished her food now. They would make it back in plenty of time, but she just wanted to eat and not talk anymore. She wanted to hurry and get back, they could talk after she got married to Bucky.

Steve had ordered fries for himself while Aspen was eating and he munched on them while Aspen was finishing her food. He looked at her while they ate. He was trying to decide whether or not he wanted to bring it up. But Aspen caught him staring at her and her eyes went wide. "What!?" She asked, her voice slightly raised.

She was starting to get frustrated. She didn't know how many times she would have to tell him she wasn't running for him to believe her and she was getting tired of repeating herself. But that's not why Steve was looking at her. But she didn't know that yet.

Steve decided to just ask her. Be open and honest. He smiled and leaned back against the booth. "How long have you known?" He asks her. He knew how long she had known. He just wanted to ease into the conversation and that was the only way he really knew how to bring it up to her.

Aspen knew he knew. She didn't know how he knew but she still knew he knew but she wanted to try and pretend like he didn't know. She shook her head and played dumb. "Known what?" She asked. "Hush you're going to make me late." She tells him and goes back to eating. Avoiding eye contact with him.

Steve looks at her and his smile grows. "How long have you known you're pregnant?" He asks her. He knew the answer. He had found her test. But he didn't need her to know that. He just wanted to hear it from her.

Aspen looked up at him and a slight smile appears on her face. And then a full one. She was happy. "Since this morning." She told him.
