Aspen and Bucky spent the rest of that day and night in bed together. Neither of them wanted to move or leave each other for even a second after what had happened.
They wanted to spend some more time together alone before leaving the room again and having everyone surrounding them. As much as they loved the team, they wanted time to themselves sometimes.
Especially when Aspen had been kidnapped and Bucky was so worried and scared, they just needed a bit of time to cope with that together before adding everyone else into the mix.
Aspen knew she had to talk to Steve though, she would just wait until the following day. After having some time alone with Bucky. But she knew Steve was anxious and wanted to talk to her. She knew he was still worried and she hated that he was worried.
Her and Bucky woke up the next morning and Aspen told him she was going to talk to Steve. Bucky decided to go and train while Aspen was with Steve, training always helped him get out frustrations.
Bucky walked Aspen to Steve's bedroom door, when they got there, he kissed her cheek and headed off to the training room. The door was half open, Aspen knocked a few times and then opened the door, Steve was sitting on his bed reading a book.
As soon as he saw Aspen he closed his book and put it down. He was expecting her. He knew she needed time with Bucky and hadn't forgot him and as soon as she got the time she needed with Bucky she would come to him.
She walked over and sat in the bed next to him, he sat up all the way and looked at her. "Hi." Aspen whispered to him, she didn't know if he would be angry so she wanted to proceed with caution.
Steve wasn't angry, he was just worried about her and all he ever wanted to do was protect her. So he wanted her to hear him out, and she wanted him to hear her out. And they both knew that so they decided they would listen to what the other had to say.
Steve glances down at a mark he catches a glimpse of on Aspen's neck and smiles and laughs. "You have a hickey on your neck." He teases her, poking at the mark on her neck, Aspen shrugged him off and laughed with him. "Oops." Aspen chuckles.
"What're you doing?" Aspen asks Steve. Clearly he had been reading but she wanted to know why he wasn't training or eating or something because those were his two favorite things to do. Steve shrugged his shoulders and shook his head. "I don't know." Steve says.
Steve looked around for a moment and Aspen followed his gaze. He looked back at her with a teasing yet serious look on his face. "I thought Bucky wasn't going to leave your side?" Steve asked Aspen.
"He walked me to your bedroom door." Aspen told him. "Waited til I walked in with you." Aspen says. "And left." She says. "He means business." She adds, smiling. Because he did. He meant business. Especially when it came to protecting her.
"We're worried about you." Steve told Aspen. Aspen knew that. She knew they were worried and she loved them for caring, but she wasn't in danger and she needed them to see that she wasn't.
"I'm fine." Aspen tells Steve. She knew he didn't believe her despite the statement being true. She was truly fine. She wasn't afraid for her life at all. She didn't think Yelena would hurt her. She knew Yelena wouldn't. She just wanted them to believe her.
"Yelena isn't a bad person." Aspen tells Steve. She knew she wasn't. "Stevie, please, trust me on this." Aspen tells him. She took his hand in hers and squeezed it, looking into his eyes and pleading with him. "Just give her a chance." She tells him.
Steve shakes his head and looks at Aspen. He takes a deep breath in and out and gives her a small smile. "Because you are my sister," Steve starts. "And you asked so nicely," he continued. "Fine." Steve agrees.
Aspen was surprised that he had actually agreed without much of an argument. She expected a lot more of an argument or some kind of fight, or something more than just, fine, but she was glad he just agreed.
Steve just agreed because for what it was worth, he trusted aspens opinion. He was still worried but she was an adult and he couldn't treat her like a child anymore, he had to respect all of the decisions she made for herself and he had to trust her instincts.
He wanted to blue eyes Yelena wasn't going to hurt Aspen, so he would trust Aspen's gut and give Yelena the benefit of the doubt despite her having kidnapped Aspen. He still wanted her to know that regardless of him giving Yelena a shot, he still worried.
"But I still worry." Steve tells Aspen. Aspen knew he would still worry. Of course he would, just like Bucky would. But Steve giving Yelena a chance for Aspen, that's all she wanted.
She saw how Steve had grown since they all three got back from there frozen naps and she saw how much he had grown from the scrawny little dude she grew up with. She saw how good of a man her brother had turned out to be and she wanted to make sure he wasn't stressing himself out all the time.
She didn't want him to worry about her, though she knew he would, but trusting her judgment, trusting her judgment was a step in the right direction for him being less stressed out and maybe remove the stick that had been up his ass for so long.
Now, Aspen gave her big brother a hug and she went back off to find Bucky, because there was someone else she needed to talk to now. Natasha.
