Aspen had text Bucky when she got to her room. She was thinking about them meeting downstairs in front of everyone and how suspicious it would look to leave together. She explained this to Bucky who understood perfectly where she was coming from. And they had decided to just meet at the bar instead. If they were seen leaving together, people would figure it out, but if they left separately, the better chance of them not getting caught just yet.

So they met at the bar, a different bar from the other night incase anyone decided to go out tonight. They wouldn't be in their usual spot. Bucky was already sitting down and Aspen walked through the door. Bucky couldn't help but smile at Aspen as he saw her and Aspen tried to hide her excitement and pure happiness when she saw Bucky as she walked through the door. He stood out to her. He always did.

Whenever she entered a room she would scan for Bucky and see him instantly. He was always the first person she noticed. How could he not be? And Bucky, he was the same with Aspen. Not matter where they were she was the first person to draw his attention, he constantly found himself searching for her in places he knew she wouldn't be, just in hopes that maybe he would see her.

Aspen was wearing a black mini dress with long sleeves. The dress hugged every inch of her perfectly. The sleeves and chest line were see through, the rest a dark jet black material. She wore black heels, the heel thick, Aspen was never one to wear stilettos or skinny heels, she would've broken an ankle. And Bucky was wearing a black dress skirt with a black leather jacket over top, black jeans, a black belt and of course, black shoes. He wore black leather gloves as well. He always wore black leather gloves where they were in public. To hide his metal arm.

Aspen hated that he hated his arm. She would always try and help him overcome the hatred for it as much as she could. He was ashamed of it. And she hated that. It was a part of him. So to her it was perfect. She always held his left hand, his metal one, trying to show him it was okay, she wasn't scared, and she liked it. But he still hated it despite all her efforts.

Bucky drank Aspen in before she sat down next to him. She scooted her stool close to him and then he grabbed it and pulled it closer, earning a little laugh from Aspen. He smiles and looks over her again. "You look..." he wanted to say beautiful. He wanted to say perfect. He wanted to say so many things but he had never said anything like this out loud to her before so he kept it simple. "...beautiful, Aspen." He finishes.

Aspen blushes and looks down. She runs her fingers over his left hand and looks up at him. "Thank you James." She smiles. She fingers her fingers tracing up his jacket and along the leather then back down to hold his left hand in hers. For once, he didn't flinch when she touched it. "You know I think I like this short hair, leather jacket, rebel look you've got going on." She tells him. "Very hot." She adds.

Bucky blushes and it was his turn to look down. "You think so?" He asks. Aspen smiles and her eyes twinkle as she looks at him. She bites her lip and nods. "I do." She says. "I know so." Bucky takes a drink of his beer and then hands it to Aspen. She takes a drink and hands it back to Bucky who finishes it off. Something they did naturally, without thinking at all. "When was the last time you went on a date?" Aspen asked Bucky.

She wasn't trying to insult how the date was going, so far it was going great, she was just making conversation. "Is it that bad?" Bucky asks worriedly. "No." She says laughing and her other hand goes up to his cheek. She rubs her thumb across his cheek and looks over his face, studying him. "You're just very timid." She says. "Not my Bucky." She adds.

Her Bucky was outgoing and full of life, bold, cocky even, her Bucky from the forties anyway. Present Bucky was still her Bucky, her Bucky with a lot of emotional damage. They look into each other's eyes and Bucky's hand holds Aspen's over his cheek for a moment before their hands fell to his lap where she continues to play with the fingers of his metal hand, the gloves still on. Bucky looks down at their hands.

"I just don't want to say or do anything wrong." He says. "This sounds like a line..." he starts and looks back up at Aspen. "But..." she urges. "But, you're different Aspen. I need to get it right with you. You're the last person in my life That I want to lose." Bucky tells her honestly. Aspen looks into Bucky's eyes pleading him to hear the words about to come out of her mouth. "No matter what happens, you'll never lose me James." She tells him.

After a while, they had been talking, laughing, reminiscing together. Bucky looks over at Aspen with a smile. "Do you remember the last time we were at a bar alone together?" Bucky asks. Aspen laughs and shakes her head. "I do..." she says. She thinks for a moment and looks down biting her lip. "God it was so long ago." She says.

Several weeks before Bucky was being shipped out, Bucky, Aspen and Steve were all supposed to meet at a bar for drinks. Aspen and Bucky showed up, sat with each other, and Steve, never showed. "Wasn't Steve supposed to have been here by now?" Bucky asks Aspen who was seated next to him at the bar.

"Yea. I don't know where he is.I think I'm going to just go home." Aspen says. She sounded tired, upset and stressed. Bucky tried to lighten her mood a bit but soon realized he chose the wrong subject. "what? And miss quality time with me? Are you afraid your boyfriend will get mad? I'll show him-" Bucky starts.

Aspen cuts him off, "Thanks but no thanks Buck. He is not my boyfriend anymore." She says. Aspen had been dating a guy, who was very below what her standard should have been. Everyone knew the relationship wouldn't last long but Aspen wanted to try. She was tired of being alone. But this guy, he wasn't the one. Not by a long shot.

"What happened? Do you need me to beat his ass?" Bucky asked. He was so overprotective of Aspen. Anyone who hurt her in any way, they had one foot in the grave of Bucky every found out. "No. Please don't.  He's not worth it." Aspen tells him. And she was right. He wasn't worth it. "What happened doll?" Bucky asks her. She blushed at the word doll. She only heard him call her that, nobody else.

"I wording put out." Aspen tells Bucky. "Seriously? He dumped you because you won't sleep with him?" Bucky clarifies. "yep. I just wasn't ready. It didn't feel right." Aspen tells him. Aspen was still a virgin. She could never bring herself to have sex with any of the guys she had dated because it never felt right to her.

"Aspen do not let anybody pressure you into doing anything. You want your first time to be special." Bucky tells her. He wasted his first time on a girl he could barely remember. He was wasted at a party and it just happened. Since then he's just been trying to numb his feelings for someone he knows her not supposed to like with other girls. But it didn't work "You deserve for it to be with someone who loves you. Don't ever settle for anything less." He tells her.

"And I'm still waiting..." Aspen says. "We'll you did promise me you'd stay the night with me." Bucky says teasingly and winks at her. "you're not getting it that
easy Jamie. We cuddle only tonight." Aspen says and playfully hits his arm. They smile at each other and Aspen lays her head on Bucky's shoulder while they continue to talk.
