The next day, Aspen needed to talk through everything that was going on. She needed an outsiders opinion. As much as she loved confiding in Bucky, she needed to talk to her girl friend instead of her boyfriend. Sometimes you just need girl talk, no matter how much you love talking to your boyfriend. Girls and boys have different views on situations, so it was good for Aspen to talk through it with both.

So she headed to Wanda, she couldn't find Natasha, so she went to find Wanda. Her and Wanda weren't as close as her and Natasha. She wanted to get to know Wanda better but they just hadn't really had that much time to get to know each other just yet. So she went to Wanda to talk to her. She explained everything to Wanda, who had already known the situation, but Aspen explained what her and Bucky had discussed last night. And Wanda listened just as Natasha would.

"why not just come out and tell him together So not just one of you is Getting his wrath?" Wanda asks. "I'd rather take the majority of it Than Steve be mad at Bucky." Aspen explains to Wanda. She hated the idea of Steve being mad at Bucky because of her. Bucky needed Steve. And Steve needed Bucky. The last thing she wanted to do, again, was get between them. Their friendship. They were friends before Bucky and Aspen even met, it wouldn't be fair to come between them.

But Bucky was choosing to be with Aspen. She shouldn't feel bad because Bucky knew exactly what he was getting himself into and proceeded to date Aspen. They both knew full well. But Aspen still didn't want Steve to take it all out on Bucky. He would forgive he'd because she was his sister, she just had to make sure that Bucky and Steve, their friendship wouldn't be changed because of her.

"they're best friends I can't take that away from Bucky
He needs someone other than me. He needs Steve." Aspen says. "and that's why I feel so bad." Aspen adds. Because no matter how much she would try to convince herself, she felt bad. She knew Bucky wouldn't want her to but she still did. She didn't want to but Aspen was...well Aspen. She was an over thinker. And hydra made it worse. Same with Bucky.

"Aspen, Bucky made his decision to be with you and he knew the consequences." Wanda says. "He knew there was a high chance of an argument with Steve." Wanda continues. Aspen, trying to defend why she still felt bad about Steve being mad at Bucky when he find out they're together, cuts Wanda off. "But I feel like I-" she starts. But Wanda knows Aspen better than Aspen thinks she does. She knows Aspen is an over thinker.

She knows she takes the blame for everything even if it isn't her fault because she is constantly thinking that even if it wasn't her fault, somehow, someway, it really was her fault. "no, Aspen you two made the decision together, knowing this Would eventually happen. You deal with it together. Don't put it all in yourself." Wanda tells her. And it was exactly what Aspen needed to hear.

Aspen didn't listen to people talking calmly with her and trying to nicely reason with her, because she was so hard on herself, niceness didn't work. She needed someone to be blunt and tell her exactly how it was and Wanda knew that. So that was exactly what she did. So maybe they knew each other better than Aspen thought they did. She knew for sure now that she could count of both Wanda and Natasha for everything and  they always had her back, and she would always have theirs.

Aspen still tried to reason though. She knew exactly where Wanda was coming from, and she still wanted to protect Bucky at all costs. "I can't help it. Steve is my brother, No matter what he'll always forgive me
But Bucky, he..." she shakes her head, trying to find the right words but she ends up just looking at Wanda, lost, she needed to protect him and make sure he was okay, that was all she wanted. No matter what anyone said to her.

"Bucky has been his best friend for nearly a century. He will forgive him. And he should know Bucky would
never hurt you." Wanda explains to Aspen. Aspen nods and she sighs. She shakes her head, and she thinks to herself. She thinks about Wanda's last sentence. "yea, so I don't get why he doesn't want us together." Aspen tells Wanda. It was a question she asked herself over and over again.

"he knows us both well enough to know the last thing we would want to do is hurt the other." Aspen says. At this point, mostly thinking out loud more than to Wanda. "and it's not like we just Met. He was my best friend first. He was Steve's." Aspen says. Wanda pulled Aspen out of her thoughts. Asking her a question to snap her out of her mental and verbal spiraling and pull her back to the reality that she needed to be in.

She asked her the question she needed to be asked in order to realize what Wanda had been trying to explain to her all along, and she asked the question she knew Aspen had needed to hear, the answer she knew all along, but she was too busy beating herself up about something that hadn't even happened, she looked right past it. She was so focused on protecting Bucky when he could handle himself, worrying about something she had no control over when this is what she had control over.

"Aspen, is being with him worth it?" Wanda asks her. Aspen is shocked that Wanda asked her a question everyone already knew the answer too. There was no reason to ask the question because the answer was so painfully obvious. "Yes." Aspen says. "Of course it is..." she adds. "then trust me when I tell you, You need to tell Steve, together. And everything will be fine." She says. And Aspen understood.
