Four years later

Steve was just as much a mess as Bucky and Aspen. He cried. He was the one who had to tell his little sister that her babies were missing, because he was with them when they disappeared...

After the phone call with their kids, Aspen walked over to Steve and gave him a hug. He was devastated. He blamed himself. He wouldn't blame Bucky or Aspen if they hated him.

Bucky let Aspen talk to him, he needed his sister right now and Aspen needed her big brother. Bucky would have his moment with Steve later but they needed to talk to Steve and get themselves together so they could find their babies. Bucky pulled himself together as best he could while Aspen talked to Steve.

Steve cried in Aspen's arms and she did the same with Steve. "I'm so sorry." Steve told her trying to contain himself. "I don't know what happened." Steve told her. It had all happened so fast. Too fast.

Aspen held onto him tighter and cried harder. She needed her big brother. "They're gone." Aspen cried. "My babies are gone." She said. Steve just held Aspen. He knew she needed a minute to get it all out before saying anything. "How do we even begin to look for them?" She asked. She didn't know. Bucky didn't know. Steve didn't know. They had no idea who could've took the babies.

"Stevie if anything happens to my babies...."Aspen cried. She didn't want to make Steve more upset and blame himself more but she needed to get it out. All her fears. All her worries. It seemed like they were wasting time but they couldn't help it. It had all just happened. They didn't even know what to do.

"Nothings going to happen to them." Steve told her. He needed to believe that himself too. He didn't know what he would do if anything did happen. Steve's guilt kicked in. He couldn't help it. He needed to tell Aspen. How sorry he was.

"I'm so sorry." He said. "This is all my fault." He told her. "Don't do that." Aspen told him. "Don't blame yourself. She didn't blame him. Neither did Bucky. "I closed my eyes." Steve told her. She already knew this. When he called her to tell her the kids were missing he told her what happened.

"We were playing hide and seek." Steve said. "I closed my eyes long enough for someone to take them." He said. "Aspen I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." He told her. He couldn't hold himself together. The more he looked into his little sisters eyes and saw how broken she was, he couldn't. "I will not stop until I find them." He tells her. Neither would Aspen and neither would Bucky. They had that in common. They just wanted the babies back.

"Whatever it takes." Steve says. "Steve you were playing a game with them." Aspen tells Steve. She needed him to know it wasn't his fault. In order for him to concentrate all the way. "You didn't know." She said. She wiped the tears off his cheeks.

"Aspen buckys gonna hate me." Steve says. Aspen shakes her head. "He could never hate you. Neither could I." Aspen told him. "Okay?" She asked. "Okay." Steve said. Aspen wrapped her arms around him giving him a hug and he held her too.

After a moment they let go of each other and Aspen gave him a broken smile. "Now let's go get my babies." Aspen told him.
