He Knew

Aspen walks out the door a moment or two after Natasha and Wanda had. But they were nowhere in sight. They hadn't seen Aspen coming behind them and went about their walk through the back yard of the compound. There was a nice little garden that they had worked on together and Aspen hadn't known about it, not intentionally, it just hadn't come up.

They walked through that garden, not knowing Aspen was looking for them. Aspen walked out the door and looked around. She didn't see them anywhere. She turned a corner, looking around for them. They were still nowhere. She wondered how they could have gotten away so fast, unless they were messing with her, which she didn't think they were.

She continued to wonder outside for a few minutes looking. And she thought about what Bucky said, 'be careful'. She felt her stomach drop. There was a pit in her stomach. She felt nervous. She thought it would be better to call out for them, so they knew that she was looking for them.

Aspen called out to them. "Nat?" Aspen called out. She waited a moment, to see if Natasha calls back for her. There was nothing. She didn't hear anything. So she tried again. "Wanda?" She called out. She waited again to see if she got a response back, and again, nothing. She shook her head and turned back around, figuring since she couldn't find them, she would just go back inside, there was no point of being outside alone.

"Man where the heck did they go?" Aspen asks, talking to herself as she tries to make her way back inside. Then she feels it again. The pit in her stomach. And she feels sick to her stomach. She picked up her pace, trying to get back inside as quickly as possible. She felt as if she was being followed. She didn't want to look behind her, she was too scared.

So she walked faster. But it was too late. She heard footsteps behind her and then a hand over her mouth. In that hand, was a cloth. The cloth covers her mouth and nose. Their hand traps her against them by her waist. She tried to fight out of the persons grip.She smacked their hand over her mouth, her other tried to pry the strangers hand from her waist, off. But it was useless.

She tried to breath but she couldn't. She couldn't breath. She felt dizzy. And she realized there were fumes coming from the cloth. And after a moment, she felt her mind start to drift, her body started to collapse, and after a moment, she felt her eyelids grow heavy, and she went unconscious.

Meanwhile, Bucky felt it. He felt something was wrong. He watched as Natasha walked back into the building, without Aspen. And the feeling became worse. He knew, he knew something was wrong without actually knowing. Natasha wasn't with Wanda though, so she could possibly be with Wanda, but, he knew she wasn't, he just knew.

He approached Natasha, hoping she would ease his mind and tell him that she was okay and that she was with Wanda, that she knew for sure, that she saw Aspen with her own eyes and she was okay.

"Hey Nat, Where's Asp?" Bucky asks her as he walks up to her. "I thought she was with you, You're all over each other all the time." Natasha tells Bucky. She wasn't being rude or mean about it or anything, she was being honest because if anyone was ever looking for either Aspen or Bucky, they knew where one of them was, so was the other.

"Nat seriously I don't know where she is." Bucky tells her. She could since the pain and worry in his voice and she stands up straight, looking him directly in the eyes. "Okay, relax." She tells him. "We'll find her. SHe's probably with Wanda." Nat says. And for a second, he was relieved and then the word, hit him. 'probably'. Which meant, she didn't know for sure.

"But she went outside to talk to you and Wanda." Bucky tells her. Nat shakes her head, she had no idea that Aspen was looking for them. "Well she didn't." She tells him. "I haven't seen her all night." Nat tells him. She realized as soon as she said that, that it would only worry him more, which wasn't her intention.

"I need to go find her." Bucky tells Natasha and starts to walk away to go find Aspen. Natasha stops him before he gets too far, knowing he needs to clear his head and calm down, because he wouldn't get anywhere if he was going crazy and thinking something terrible had happened to her.

"Bucky. She didn't get kidnapped." Natasha says. "She's around somewhere." Natasha tells him. Bucky shakes his head and looks away. He still wasn't convinced. He was worried. This was why he hated being away from her. He was worried something bad would happen if they wrens together, if he didn't know where she was, and that's exactly what was looking like happened now.

"You find Wanda." Natasha tells Bucky after she sees that he's not convinced and he's stil having and Internal freak out. "See if she's with her and I'll go look for her too just in case." Nat tells Bucky. He shakes his head and looks down. He takes a deep breath and then looks back up to meet her eyes.

"Nat, something wrong." Bucky tells her. He couldn't shake the feeling. He knew. He couldn't get the thoughts or feelings out of his mind and he just wanted to hold Aspen in his arms. "No it's not." Nat tells him surely. She truly believed nothing was wrong and that Aspen was just wondering around somewhere. "It's going to be fine." Nat tells Bucky one more time, hoping that he would take a deep breath and believe her.

There was no way something could have happened to Aspen with all these people here anyway. Then Wanda walks in the room, alone, making Bucky's heart completely drop. "Hey have either of you seen Aspen?" Wanda asks. Bucky looks at Wanda and Nat, and he can't breathe. All the air, had been sucked from his lungs. Because he knew.
