Aspen was scared. She was sitting, blind folded, up against a wall. She could hear dripping sounds. Water droplets. Water droplets, plopping down on the floor. Plop. Plop. Plop. Plop. Over and over and over again. It was all she could hear. She didn't hear anyone. She was all alone. The person who took her, wasn't with her. She would have been able to hear their breathing it was so quiet where she was.
She could have heard a pen drop, it was so quiet. It was cold. She was shivering. And the way the water dropping was echoing, she figured she was somewhere where it was mostly empty and spacious. Most likely a warehouse or an abandoned building. It smelled like mildew and sewage. She had a hard time not gagging every-time she breathed in and out.
It was so cold where she was, that every time she did breath in and out, it burned her lungs and her nose. She tried to curl herself into a ball to warm herself up, her arms were tied together and so were her ankles. It wasn't rope or tape, it was a soft material, like a piece of clothing or a bed sheet perhaps. She managed to curl up in the corner she was in but she still shivered.
And then she heard footsteps approaching. Heels. Not heels. Boots. She could tell by the sound they were making on the floor as her captor walked across it. It had to be a cement floor. Especially because of how cold it was. She heard the person getting closer and closer. She tried to back up, but there was no use, she was already, literally, backed into a corner.
She felt a hand hovering over her face, and then it touched her. The hand was warm against her cold skin. And the woman, tugged the blindfold over Aspen's head. She still couldn't see for a moment. Adjusting to the lighting after being kept in the dark for god knows how long. When her eyes finally adjusted, she looked at the woman who had taken her.
She was pretty. She had blonde hair. It looked like she had greenish blue eyes. She held a pot in her hand. Aspen looked to it confused, but then, she figured she had more important things to worry about than the pot in this mystery woman's hand. She met the eyes of the woman. And she tried to figure out, if she had ever seen her before. She hadn't. She didn't know who this woman was.
"Who are you?" Aspen asked her. The woman spoke. A thick Russian accent. Not answering Aspen's question. "I made macaroni if you want some." The woman says to Aspen. Aspen shakes her head, utterly confused. Though she was starving, the food may be poisoned. She didn't know. And she still didn't know who this woman was. "I don't want macaroni. I want to know who you are." Aspen tells the woman.
The woman crouches down so she's eye levers with Aspen and sets the pot down on the ground next to them. She looks directly at Aspen. Their eyes locked on one another's. "I'm Yelena." The woman tells Aspen. She has a straight, serious face. "Yelena Belova." The woman says, her full name. And it still doesn't sound at all familiar to Aspen.
She thought about what this woman could want. What Yelena, could want. And she didn't know. Unless she was the family member of one of her victims as The Summer Soldier. She had no idea what this was about. And she was down right confused. Until Yelena, said something else, that completely shocked Aspen. "Natasha Romanoff is my sister." Yelena says.
So many thoughts ran through Aspen's mind. If this was Nat's sister, why would she kill Aspen? Especially since Nat and Aspen were friends. And she didn't know Nat had a sister. She had never said anything about a sister. She never told Aspen she had a sister.
"Natasha? Natasha is my friend. You would k!ll your sisters friend?" Aspen asks Yelena. Yelena stands up, taking the pot with her and setting it on a little folding table. Aspen looked around the room now. It was an abandoned building. Everything looked like cement. It was empty except a mattress with a few blankets, and the folding table with a single chair. Which led Aspen to another question, where the hell did the macaroni come from? But again, the macaroni was the least of her worries.
Yelena set the pot down and then turned back to Aspen shrugging. "I'm going to be honest." She tells Aspen. "I have no idea who you are." She says. Aspen looked at her even more confused than she already was. She had no idea what was going on. It just kept making less and less since the more she tried to think about it or the more Yelena spoke.
"Why are you going to kidnap and kill someone who you don't know?" Aspen asks Yelena. She knew she did that as an assassin under Hydra's control, but that was different than this was. Yelena was of sound mind and body right now. "I wanted to get to my sister. And I'm not going to kill you." Yelena tells Aspen.
"You said-" Aspen started, because she had spoken to Aspen, she handed her a phone and said 'say your goodbyes.' That sounds like 'I'm gonna kill you, say goodbye'. "Wait you actually believe me?" Yelena asks Aspen. "I said that so you could get them to come get you." She tells Aspen. Aspen shakes her head, frustratedly. "So I can see my sister." Yelena says.
"So you're not going to kill me?" Aspen asked to clarify. "I'm not going to hurt you." Yelena tells Aspen. "I promise." She says. Aspen looks doubtfully at Yelena. "I don't have any weapons on me." Yelena tells Aspen. And there's a pause, Yelena shrugs and corrects herself. "Okay I take that back." She says. "I don't have any weapons...currently in my hands." She tells Aspen.
"Seriously." Aspen says. Yelena looks down at her hands and shrugs, also nodding. "You made me terrify Bucky for nothing." Aspen tells Yelena. "Yelena looks at Aspen confused and Aspen looks pissed, she hated that Bucky was scared out of his mind right now for no reason. "What's a Bucky?" Yelena asks.
