The next night Aspen is in her room laying on her bed and watching T.V. After Bucky made the little confession yesterday, there was a moment of silence where if they were alone, and Steve wasn't there, the moment may have become intimate. If Steve wasn't there, they probably would have ended up kissing. But Steve was there. So there was the moment of silence, Aspen looked at Steve and he looked pissed. He told them he was going to bed and then Aspen and Bucky excused themselves to bed as well.

Aspen was lost in her show when there was a light knock on the door. She was hoping it was Bucky but she knew by the knock it was Steve. He always knocked. Bucky and Aspen were in a place where he would pop his head in the door, make sure it was okay to come in, then walk in. But Steve did an obnoxious knock with a pattern and just walked in. Didn't even wait for a response.

"Hey, everyone's going out tonight for a drink. Are you coming?" Steve asked her. She paused the T.V and sat up looking at him while he made his way into her room. "Sure." Aspen said. She didn't really want to go, but she knew Bucky would be there, so she was going to go. To see Bucky. "Are you mad at me?" Steve asks her, making her way towards her bed to sit down.

"Are you going to continue to hold something over my head I promised you seventy years ago?" She asks him. Answering his question with a question. He hated when she did that and she knew it. So she did it on purpose. She didn't necessarily want to piss him off even more, but him constantly getting on her about Bucky was getting old.

She understood he was just trying to look out for both her and Bucky, but there was a point where he needed to leave them alone and let them make their own decisions, after all, they were both adults and they could make their own decisions. And what really got to Aspen, was Steve's excuse for not wanting them to be together, was because Aspen had promised him so long ago that she wouldn't go there with him. But it was a whole lifetime ago. It was forever ago. It was before everything. And they were all so young back then.

Steve sat next to Aspen on her bed and looked at her. Like he wasn't in the wrong. When he was. Trying to protect Aspen and Bucky or not, he was going overboard with it. "I don't know. Are you going to hook up with Bucky?" Steve asks her. "What if I was? What if I love him Steve?" Aspen asks him.

She didn't know if she did or not. But she was just trying to prove a point to Steve. Her point, was that it was ridiculous for Steve to try and come between them especially if it was something that would made her or Bucky happy. She wanted him to think, was it worth it for him to keep them apart in case they ended up getting hurt, even if in the moment it would make them happy. And what if it would work out? And he kept them apart for nothing.

Steve looks down and sighs before looking back up at Aspen. "Do you?" Steve asked her. "That's not the point." Aspen told him. Because it wasn't the point. He was choosing to not see the point because he wanted to think that he was right. He wanted to think he was doing what was best for them, because this is what he thought was best for them in the moment.

"Then what is the point?" Steve asked. "If it made him and I happy, would you really try to come between us?" Aspen asked him. Trying to guide him in the right direction as to what her point was, to what she was thinking. Steve didn't get it though. If anything, what Aspen was trying to explain to him, made him even more angry. "God aspen, are you together or not?" He asked. His voice raising slightly.

Aspen shook her head and scoffed. She felt she should have known he wouldn't get it. He was always playing the role of the protective older brother and it was like he forgot he was human sometimes. He was practically a robot when it came to protecting Aspen. The only emotion he would show towards her would be anger.

Even it wasn't the right way to do it, he did it because he cared. Because he loved aspen and Bucky. "You always miss the point Steve." Aspen tells him. "Then tell me Aspen. What is the point? Explain it to me." Steve says to her. He really did want to understand where she was coming from but at the same time, he knew she would prove him wrong and didn't want to be wrong. He wanted to keep them from getting hurt.

"No. You need to figure it out Steve. It's not about you." Aspen tells him. "Then what is it about?" Steve asks. Both of them getting more angry and frustrated and the conversation went on. It was pointless now and they weren't going to get anywhere with this conversation. They were at an angry stalemate.

"NOT YOU!" Aspen yells at Steve standing up. And was so frustrated she couldn't hold it together anymore. But she tried. She took a deep breath and lowered her voice. "It's not about you. It's about me. It's about Bucky. Even if it made us happy, you would still try to keep us apart?" Aspen asked him.

She was trying to figure out herself why Steve just couldn't wrap his mind around what Aspen was saying. "For what Steve? For a promised i made you seventy years ago? Before Bucky and I were kidnapped and tortured together?" Aspen asked him. Steve decided to ignore the rest of the conversation, to sweep it under the rug and act like nothing happened. "Are you coming with me to the bar or not Aspen?"
