Aspen and Bucky had let a week go by since Bucky's talk with Steve. They were hoping the time would help Steve calm down before they told him. And then they all got a call from Tony telling them to meet in the conference room. They figured it was a mission and Bucky and Aspen agreed to tell Steve as soon as they got back. Telling him right before a mission would cause more conflict and possibly jeopardize the mission and their safety depending on how exactly Steve takes the news of them being together.

Bucky and Aspen headed to the conference room with the rest of the team. They all piled in the door and sat down. Of course, Bucky and Aspen sat next to each other. Tony walks in last. Everyone turns to look at him as he walks in. Which was probably intentional. He loved to make an entrance. And he loved attention.

"Now that everyone's here," Tony starts, "We have a new mission." He says. Aspen looks over at Bucky, a small smile on her face and biting her lip. "Our first mission." She whispers to him. Bucky smiles at Aspen, seeing that she's excited for their first mission. He shakes his head at her and slides his hand over, pinching her leg playfully. "Hush you. Time to listen." He whispers to her. Aspen smiles at Bucky and punches his leg back, on his upper thigh to tease him more.

She drops her smile and makes herself look serious."Yes sergeant." She says. Tony looks to Aspen and Bucky and they whip their heads over to him to make it seem as though they had been paying attention the entire time. "Aspen and Bucky, this will be Your first mission. But only one of you will go." Tony says.

"What? Why?" Aspen asks disappointedly. She figured she was going to end up being the one who had to stay back. Not only because she was a women, but because Bucky looked physically stronger than her and he had the metal arm, which could help more, hypothetically. And of course she did want to go on the mission, but she also didn't want Bucky to go without her.

She wanted to go with him. Wanting to protect him. He had the whole team, but that was different. She was always with him during things like this and she wanted to be now. And he was always with her during things like this. So if she was to go on the mission, she would want Bucky to be there for her as well. She felt safer when he was with her, and she knew that he felt safer when she was with him.

Bucky knew exactly what Aspen was thinking, he slid his hand over to hers and held it. He looked over at her, she let his eyes. He leaned a little over to her so only she could hear what he said. "Baby let him speak." He whispered to her. Knowing Tony had a good explanation. And he wanted her to stay calm. There was no need for her to get worked up, he knew everything would be fine. He wanted her to know too.

She knew what he was thinking too. He squeezed his hand and looked over at him. She looked up at him with big and innocent eyes. "Sorry sergeant." She whispers. She knew that it turned him on when she called him sergeant and she loved to tease him. She looked down and could see his jeans tighten.

He knew what she was doing. He tried to hide his smile but he liked what she was doing. But he also knew they needed to focus on the briefing. He tried hiding his smile and failed. "Aspen stop." He whispered to her. She loved teasing him and she knew he liked it but she stopped so they could both pay attention to Tony. "Sorry." She whispered back.

"We don't like having more than one recruit on a mission at a time. One of you can go and learn in field, And the other will stay on comms and Learn that way for next time." Tony says, answering Aspen's previous question as to why they both couldn't go on the mission, only one of them could. "I'll go." Aspen says.

"No." Bucky says looking at her. He knew she was capable, but he would rather be put in the line of fire before she was. "No you're not Aspen." Steve says. He knew very well too that she was capable, but she was his little sister and he didn't want her out on a mission.  "Wow." Aspen says. "Please don't all speak at once." Aspen says sarcastically.

"I'll decide who goes." Tony says. "Bucky I don't want you to go." Aspen says. Not whispering. She said it loud enough for everyone to hear, including Steve. "I don't wnat you to go either. I want you to be able to watch first. I want you safe." Bucky says. He doesn't bother whispering either. Not that he didn't care if Steve hear, but he didn't want to have to whisper talking to her about this. And neither did she.

"What about you?" She asks. "I want you safe too." Aspen tells him. Steve watches them and shakes his head at them. "I will be. And the whole team will be there too. I'll be okay. I promise." Bucky tells Aspen. Aspen smiles, knowing that Bucky said I promise at the end intentionally. "You promise?" She asks. She voted her lips and smiles at him, her eyes bright. Bucky smiles back at her, his eyes just as bright as hers, and everyone in the room could see it.

"And when I promise something, I never. Ever. Break that promise." Bucky says. Quoting tangled. Just as Aspen had done. "Yay!" Aspen said with a smile. "You said the line!" She exclaimed. Sam looks at them with a smile on his face, everyone else did too, everyone except for Steve. "They're cute." Sam says. "They're not together." Steve says angrily.
