After everyone talking back and forth and drinking for a little while, both Aspen and Bucky were ready for the party to be over. Even though they had both only been there for an hour. This was the most amount of time they had spent with someone other than each other since they had gotten back. They were both still trying to work on their social skills and get used to how different everything was in the 2000's. Because it was all so so different. So they could only bare it so long. Before they needed a break. Or they would break.
Bucky and Aspen still sat next to one another. They kept stealing glances and small smiles with one another. They would brush each other subtly and gently with their hands whenever they could. It was innocent and it was adorable how these two were with one another. Kind of sickening but when you thought about it, it made since. The only time they were ever really happy was when they were with one another, because everything they had been through together. They relied on each other. For everything.
Bucky leaned closer to Aspen and whispered to her. "Can I take you home now?" He asks. Aspen blushes and she shakes her head at him. "Stop trying to get me in bed Barnes." She whispers teasingly. He bites his lip and shakes his head at her, trying to hide his smile. Aspen looked over to Steve, to see if they really could get away with leaving together. He was over at the pool table with Sam, they were laughing and drinking, and obviously, they were playing pool. So he was well distracted, for now. "Let's go why he's occupied." Aspen says to Bucky.
Just as Bucky and Aspen start to get up to head out, Tony moves everyone's attention over to them. "What do you two keep whispering about?" Tony asks. Everyone's eyes go to Aspen and Bucky. Thor looks to Aspen and Bucky with a smirk then looks back to tony. He makes his voice louder than usual on purpose as he speaks. "They've been doing that all evening." Thor says. This grabbed Steve's attention for sure. He looked at Bucky and he looked at Aspen. He was trying to read them but they had poker faces. They were trained for moments like this. Too bad Aspen's excuses were lousy. And almost always gave her away.
Because as much as they were trained for moments like these, both of them intentionally never used their training skills they had learned from hydra, unless it was for fighting and they really needed too. "I think that 'Asgardian Drink' is getting to you all." Aspen tells them all. Thor chuckles and shakes his head, making a point to continue drinking his drink. "I'm a god. Alcohol doesn't get to me." Thor tells Aspen. And he looks right at Steve after. Stirring the pot.
"Mhm ok." Aspen says and looks away. Hoping someone would save them. Thor smiles and looks over to Bucky. "You've for a stubborn one on your hands Barnes." Thor tells him. Bucky tries to hide his smile but he can't help it. He thinks of Aspen. And whenever he does that, it makes him smile. He thought of how stubborn she was, but how she would meet him halfway and they'd compromise together because they were willing to do that for one another. They wouldn't do it with anyone else.
Steve takes Thor's drink and he smells it. He had already drank some but he wanted to see if there was even a bit of truth to what Aspen was saying or if she was trying to cover up her and Bucky's flirtations and whispered conversations. He takes a drink of it, and then takes another one. "It's not even that strong." He says looking at Aspen. Waiting for an explanation. Aspen didn't know what to say so she said the first thing that came to mind. In hindsight, it was a bit childish...but, it distracted everyone from the original topic momentarily. "Neither are you." Aspen says.
"Be nice." Bucky says to Aspen, trying to hold in his laughter. He didn't want Steve to see him taking her side and laughing at him. Even though he really did want to laugh so bad. Aspen always made him laugh. "Make me." Aspen says back. She bites her lip and smirks at him, knowing exactly what she was saying and doing. "Don't start Aspen, because I will finish it." Bucky tells her looking away, trying not to get sucked in with her in the moment. Because part of him, no, all of him, wanted to make her. He wanted to kiss her until they couldn't breath and he wanted her hands all over him and his hands all over her, as long as it was what she wanted too.
"Please do." Aspen says to him calmly. Her smile fading. And she was serious. She wanted to leave with him. But both knew all attention was on them now and they couldn't leave. Not yet. And not together. "I can't tell if you're serious right now or being sarcastic." Bucky whispers to her. She was very good at being sarcastic that often, you couldn't tell if she was. And Bucky knew almost all the time what she was doing, but so much was going on right now he wasn't quiet sure. And he needed to be sure right now.
"A little bit of both. But the virgin in me Is telling me not to go home with you just yet." Aspen whispers back to him. "I can take you home, and we can keep our hands to ourselves." Bucky whispers to her. "Not all the way to ourselves. You better kiss me if you take me home. And cuddle me." Aspen tells him. Bucky smiles, pleased, he was hoping she would say that. "Yes ma'am." He whispers to her with a smirk.
"They're whispering again." Thor says. "Snitches get stitches blondie." Aspen says to him with a pure icey look in her eyes. She was trying to intimidate him, and it worked because for the rest of the night, well, for the rest of the time her and Bucky stayed, they kept out of Bucky and Aspen's business.
