DAVE EZEKIEL
"What do you want ba?" I asked Gabbie while she's having a hard time choosing what notebook will she buy.
We're here at the Mall to buy school supplies since classes will start again by next week. I mean, sila Gabbie lang pala. My classes will start by next month pa. It's a good thing, I guess. I don't even know if I'm ready for College. I'm kinda nervous. But Mommy and Daddy told me that I can do it. I believe them and I should start believing myself too.
"I can't choose," Gabbie replied. "This one is sooo cute! But this one is sooo pretty!"
I was confused. She's holding 2 notebooks na parehong pink. I know how much she loves color pink.
Ino butted in. "You'll get a high score all the time ba kung maganda 'yung gagamitin mong notebook? No naman, 'di ba?"
"Kuya Ino, you're so annoying talaga! I'm the one who'll use the notebook, not you!"
"Ang tagal mo naman kasi pumili. 'Wag ka na kaya mag-notebook!"
"Isusumbong kita kay Daddy!"
"That's enough," I interrupt their argument. "We're in a public place."
I saw how Gabbie glared at Ino. Ino, on the other hand, just make faces at her. Lalo lang nainis si Gabbie. Hay, this two.
"It's your fault," Gabbie whispered.
"No. It's yours. Ang tagal mo kasi pumili ng notebook."
Before the round 2 of their argument starts, pinagsabihan ko ulit sila. Almost everyday na lang silang nag-aaway. They can argue at home. Bahala sila pagalitan ni Daddy. But we're in a public place. They need to control their emotions. Tho, I'm used to them always arguing about everything. Laging nag-aasaran. They're so much like Mommy and Tito Joshua.
"Gabbie, Ino," I called their names to catch their attention. They immediately stop looking at each other. "You get your notebook na, Gabbie. Hahanapin pa natin sila Mommy."
15 minutes had passed and yet, Gabbie still can't decide. It's fine with me. Pero hindi kay Ino. Kaya kinuha na niya 'yung 5 pink notebooks na pinagpipilian ni Gabbie to the point na naiiyak na siya kasi hindi siya makapili.
While we're walking to find our parents, Ino suddenly stopped walking. He's pointing at something.
"Gabbie, look!"
They gave me the things they're holding before they walked away from me. Parang kanina lang, they're so annoyed at each other. Ngayon, magkasundo na ulit sila. They're like that all the time. I just let them.
I was walking fast when I finally saw my parents. But my walks began to slow down when I saw them hugging each other. Seriously, Mommy and Daddy? At this place talaga?
But their love for each other is the kind of love I'll look forward in the near future. I want that kind of love. I want what they have.
Days passed by, I saw how excited my siblings are to to go to School again. Well, except kay Sophia. Naalala ko, sabi niya, she'll go to School daw pero sa first day lang.
Among the five of us, I can say that Ino is the most athletic. Tho, we have different sports naman na we love. Ako, I love basketball. Gabbie loves to play table tennis. Sophia is still young but she's interested in playing volleyball. That's why she's excited kapag may PE class siya. Even Daddy's favorite sport. He knows how to play Golf. Sabi pa ni Daddy, he's a better golf player than Tito Gello.
