"What's wrong with him?" Jade asked, frowning and pouting. "He's been like this since I got here."
Jorah scowled and took another sip of his drink.
"He had that audition today." Avalon pointed out. "Did you forget?"
"Ohhhhhh." Realization dawned on Jade.
Seeing Jade's response, Avalon shook his head.
"So what's the matter?" Jade poked as he perched on the arm of Avalon's chair. "Did it not go well?"
A waiter brought his drink, and Jade flashed a dazzling smile. The young man dipped his head shyly in response. Avalon adjusted his glasses, lips curling inwards.
"I thought he wasn't even going to go." he rested his slender finger beneath his chin.
"Well he did." Avalon relayed.
Jade sighed. "I don't understand what your friend is thinking sometimes."
Avalon's brow raised "My friend? If I recall correctly, you two have known each other for longer than I have."
"Details, details." Jade waved a hand dismissively. He looked at Avalon with scrutiny. "And what are you wearing?".
Avalon looked at himself. "What's wrong with it?"
Jade sighed heavily. "Nothing, if you're going to the office or something."
"I was at the office." Avalon pointed out.
Jade rolled his eyes and took another sip of his drink. "Nevermind." he huffed.
Avalon simply looked at Jade. This was not a new argument. He and Jade had known each other for over a decade. During that time, one thing was clear, they were as different as night and day.
Take today's outfits they wore today. They both wore charcoal yet Jade looked like he'd stepped out of a fashion magazine. His jacket was expertly cut, slim lapels and a single button closure accentuating his broad shoulders. Beneath it, a crisp white shirt with a subtle pattern added depth without overpowering it. The collar was left open, revealing a glimpse of his chest and a hint of a silver necklace.
Avalon subtly traced the lines of Jade's figure before taking another sip of his drink.
"What?" Jade eyed him.
"Nothing." Avalon replied curtly.
Shifting his attention, Jade watched Jorah for another few minutes before shaking his head. "Well this won't do. If he's going to call us out, then I might as well have a good time." He smoothed his jacket. "Afterall, there are so many other things I could be doing with my time."
"Of course." Avalon leaned back in his chair and crossed his legs at the knee before finishing his drink.
With a shrug, Jade rose to his feet, his long legs taking him to occupy the seat opposite Jorah's.
"You." he sought Jorah's attention.
Jorah looked at him.
"You've just been sitting here.Long day?"
"You could say that." Jorah confirmed.
"You went to that audition you told us about. How was it? Do you think you have a shot?"
Jorah frowned. "Are you serious?"
"What?"
"I told you what kind of bullshit project those asses were trying to rope me into." Jorah's frown deepened. "Why the fuck would I want to do that kind of work where two men---" The rest of Jorah's sentence fell short .
