"What are you going to do about this?" Jade asked Jorah as they stood to one side of the room, champagne flutes in hand .

Jorah didn't look at him. "You caused this mess. You should be the one to fix it."

Jade frowned. "How many times am I going to say I'm sorry? It was a mistake."

"Your mistake fucked up my life." Jorah griped.

Ever so often, they nodded politely or exchanged pleasantries with someone who wanted the Eren heir's attention.

"But it might be all for the best." Jorah add

Jade looked at him in surprise. "Huh? All for the best? What do you mean? Are you just going to give up? Are you letting him go like that? What the hell Jorah..I know it's bad but come on..."

"Settle down." Jorah cut him off.. "Geez. You talk so much. No wonder we're in this mess." Jade still looked confused. "It's not what you think."

Hearing this, Jade relaxed a little, though confusion lingered on his face.

Jorah glanced across the room to the only other person in the room whose ass everyone was trying to kiss more than his---his father's. Jorah couldn't hear what he was saying to the group of people in his company, but they hung on every word.

Jorah clicked his tongue and looked at his watch before ducking back the rest of his drink.

"How much longer do we need to stay here?" Jade asked. "You know I hate being anyplace with your father."

"Stop complaining." Jorah glanced at his friend. "I don't like being here either. I only came because Zhuzhi asked me to."

"Yeah but why did I have to come along?" Jade pouted.

"Punishment." Jorah smirked

"You're so mean." Jade frowned, shuddering as he glanced at Jorah's father across the room. "Anyway. What did you mean by 'maybe it's all for the best'?"

"Something isn't right." Jorah replied.

"Hmm?" Jade looked at him curiously.

"I think I'm being followed."

"Followed? By who?" Jade asked.

"I don't know ..but I'm pretty sure." Jade listened with rapt attention. "I've had this feeling for a few weeks, but the other day, I became sure."

"What happened?"

"I was leaving Nine's when I saw a car parked across the street." Jade didn't react. "The guy inside had a camera pointed at me." Still nothing unusual. "When he saw me, he rolled the window up and drove away."

Jade furrowed his brow. "Hmmm... What's strange about that? You're a celebrity. People are always trying to take pictures of you."

"I know." Jorah frowned. "But this was different. It didn't feel like paparazzi or a fan. It was like surveillance."

"Surveillance?" whispered in surprise, leaning closer to Jorah.

"Anyway, a few days after that, there was another car. The windows weren't rolled down, but it sat there overnight."

"And you think it was the same person?"

"Could be..I didn't see who was inside."

"But the car was at Nine's. Could it be that they weren't looking for you? Has he said anything?" Jorah looked at him. "Oh right. He's not speaking to you," Jade said sheepishly.

"Do you at least know where he is?" Jade asked. "You said he hadn't been back to his place."

"I do." Jorah nodded. "He's at Asion's place."
