The production for the series was progressing rapidly, with more than half of the series already shot and anticipation growing each day. Skepticism about the cast had faded, thanks to Nine and Jorah's increasing social media interactions. Today, they were heading off-site to shoot a pivotal beach scene.
Location! Location! Location! All good BLs had a beach scene. Prior to the interference of Jorah's father, a local beach was earmarked. With the plan to make the production even better, Jorah suggested a location change – a resort on an exclusive island.
The Director had been unwilling at first, citing the cost of the change. To that Jorah only had one response : Money is no object.
When the staff heard of the location change, they were elated considering that on their own, they could only dream of visiting such a place.
When they arrived at the pier, they all gasped in wonder when they were directed to a luxury catamaran named "Destiny." Their eyes darted here and there, not wanting to miss a single thing. Jorah maintained a safe distance from the wonder-struck crowd as they piled on equipment and boarded after.
Just up ahead, he could see Nine. He too was looking about in a kind of wonder as he took pictures. He frowned and tried to ignore him. He couldn't allow himself to be sucked in anymore.
Jealousy.
Anger over another person's attention.
Feeling lonely when he didn't see someone.
It was all because of him.
Since Asion's arrival, Jorah hardly saw Nine alone. After spending a few days at Nine's house, he went to his own apartment.
Lately there were so many pictures of Nine and Asion at events.
He bit his bottom lip as he forced these feelings inside. Timewise, Jorah was not able to pinpoint exactly what or when it had happened. He couldn't identify the singular moment when he began to care about this person.
That didn't matter now. Asion's arrival had made it clear to Jorah– his relationship with Nine was only professional and so everything that he did should align that way. There was no need to think beyond the lines of what they were, co-workers.
The cameras for the main crew were not set up but they hired an extra videographer to capture the journey for the entire trip as a special.
Nine boarded "Destiny" first and took a seat. A few people boarded between them. When Jorah boarded, he looked around for an empty seat. There was an obvious empty space beside Nine but Jorah chose to wedge himself into a smaller space on the opposite side
He avoided Nine's questioning eyes by looking at his phone. When everyone boarded, the anchor was raised and they cast off with a big excited "woooooo" from the crowd.
A big smile was on every face and Jorah tried his best to avoid the one with the crescent smile. The person beside him pulled closer and aimed their phone for a photo. He smiled for the capture.
Sitting across from him on the opposite side, Norris was quite engaged with his phone, his fingers moving rapidly, smiling every few seconds. Gage was sitting a few bodies from him, watching him keenly.
Occasionally, in spite of his best effort to avoid it, Jorah glanced at Nine. Each time their eyes met, his heart twitched and he looked away.
The waters were pristine. Hues of blue warmed their eyes for as far as they could see. The sound of the waters lapping on the side of the vessel as it surged forward filled their ears and the smell of the ocean filled their nostrils.
