Jorah frowned when he saw the caller ID. Tossing his keys on the counter, he answered. "Tanner?"
[What the hell is going on?] his manager asked. [What did you do?!]
"What do you mean?"
[Why am I getting a call from that kid's manager to complain you kidnapped him?]
" Kidnapped him?" Jorah echoed. "He was standing right there when I took him. I didn't spirit him away]
[But Whyyyyyy?] Tanner was bewildered.
"He wasn't feeling well. I took him to see a doctor." Jorah explained
[How is that your job? Shouldn't you leave that to his people?]
Jorah clenched his fist. "I had to because his fucking people only care about themselves. If he had time to complain about me, why didn't he take him to the doctor?"
Tanner was silent for a moment. [Since when do you care about other people's business?]
"It's not other people's business," Jorah retorted. "We're on the same project. If he's not well, there will be delays."
"It's not other people's business." Jorah replied. "He's working on the same project as I am. If he's not well then there will be delays."
Tanner laughed [It's funny. We had to strong arm you into doing this series and listen to you now]
Jorah frowned. "I'm already doing it so I might as well do it properly. Besides, I want to hurry and get it over with"
[Alright. If you say so."] Tanner conceded [How is he?]
"Post-traumatic headaches," Jorah reported
[Right. He had that accident a few days ago]
"Which is why I told him he should just take it easy." Jorah complained.
[You told him that?] Tanner was surprised.
"It made sense." Jorah said. "The doctor has changed his medication and will continue to observe him ."
[Alright I'll talk to his manager.' Tanner told him "He was making a fuss about the whole thing. I think he was even threatening to go to the media.]
"Let him." Jorah replied. "I don't care."
[Right. I know you don't but you've been doing so well lately. And that guy has a silver tongue. We don't want him saying all kinds of stuff.]
Jorah continued to frown. "I'll talk to you later." He hung up.
Nine walked back in, color returning to his cheeks but still looking tired. "How are you feeling?" Jorah asked, his voice surprisingly tender.
"Fine." Nine replied. When Jorah bristled, Nine looked at him. "I'm not lying. I really do feel ok. Right now it doesn't hurt."
"Good. You should get some rest."
"Who called?" Nine asked.
"My manager."
"Is Everything ok?"
"Everything's fine." Jorah assured him. "He was just checking in."
Silence fell between them. After the fan meet, Jorah had taken Nine to his physician. The diagnosis was post-traumatic headaches. With medication, he should be fine, but he needed to be observed and not overexert himself.
During the visit, Jorah never left his side. Sean had stayed too, looking worried the whole time. Nine's manager called constantly, but on Jorah's instruction, Sean didn't answer. Even when they were parting ways, Jorah only gave one instruction to Sean "Don't answer his calls.".
