Mumei pov: "So where are we going?" Fauna asked me
I honestly didn't hear them say that due to being lost in thought; something irked me about them though, but I couldn't think about what, so I stood there completely dumbfounded.
"Earth to Mumei!" Kronii loudly spoke to get my attention.
"W-what!" I half-heartedly replied in response.
The two girls stared at me before Fauna cleared her throat. "Where are we going?" She sweetly asked
"Oh, we're going to see my papa." I told them
"Your father? "For some reason I thought you didn't have one; I was under the assumption Omega was your parent," Kronii said.
"They are both my father and mother but also not my papa," I said paradoxically.
They looked at me confused by what I had just told them. Instead of explaining, I just ignored them and picked up a stick. I slowly frittered away at them as they finally got my attention again.
"So when is the last time you've seen your papa?" Fauna asked
"A year," I tersely replied.
Kronii and Fauna appeared to be very scrupulous, not wanting to miss out on any details, but I must seem noncommittal to this whole conversation.
"So do you think he'll be happy to see you?" Kronii asked while trying to break the weird tension.
"I don't know honestly; he may have forgotten me." I laughed
The two of them gave shocked looks. "You can't say that!" The two of them said to me
I gave them faux smiles, not wanting them to worry about my thoughts anymore. I listlessly began to walk ahead, but those two took notice.
"Mumei, your papa remembers you!" Fauna told me before gently hugging me.
"Yeah, trust us," Kronii softly spoke before placing a kiss on my forehead.
I didn't really know how to respond to them as of now, and my head is spinning, but I want to trust that he'll remember me and be happy to see me, but then again, he knows who I am and he may hate me for it, and I never told him about my two wives either.
I don't want to be judged...
Fauna noticed my continued worry, and she turned to me so I would look her in the eyes.
"Mumei, let's face whatever you are worried about together." She whispered in my ear.
I shivered due to her words; she had an unwavering smile on her face, full of confidence. I glanced at her and Kronii quickly before feeling a light smile.
"I'll trust you," I told them.
They both seemed to enjoy my newfound trust and wanted me to look forward and think positively.
"So where does your papa live?" Kronii asked as we strolled through the urban village.
"Not too far from here," I giggled.
We approached the house I grew up in, and as we got to the gate, I quickly realized that my papa had replaced the rusty fence that I accidentally cut myself on when I was little. The old gate was replaced by a modern-looking fence that really didn't fit the house's aesthetic.
It was outdated to say the least. It was dilapidated honestly. If you told me someone lived here, I would only believe it due to areas in the house that looked modernized, showing someone is actively trying to fix the home, and the plant life outside the house was flourishing, probably the best in the area.
I was expecting Fauna and Kronii to laugh and make fun of this place, but they didn't; they eagerly awaited me to do something.
I slid the gate open and walked over to the door; it had also been updated. I went to open the door, but I had second thoughts and knocked on it. About a minute later, the door swung open.
We were met by a slim man whose beauty could be mistaken for a woman; their long silky hair flowed in the wind. His face turned from blank to surprise as he saw me.
"Mumei!" My papa said cheerfully before hugging me
"How have you been?" I asked with surprise.
"Good, very good, come in!" My papa said
The three of us followed him in, and we sat on the couch. "I'll brew you and your friends coffee," my papa said.
"Papa, they aren't my friends; they are my wives," I told him.
His face lit up when he heard those words. "I have new daughters!" He said cheerfully
"I didn't expect him to be so relaxed." Fauna whispered in my ear.
"So what should we call you?" Kronii asked
"Azure, Azure-papa, or just papa," my father said.
"Sure, that could work," Kronii laughed.
My papa brewed us coffee and placed it in front of us, asking, "Are you hungry?" Hs asked
"Yeah, I'm a bit hungry, but I need you to know I'm vegan." Fauna said
"I don't mind, I'll get you something you can eat," my papa said.
"I'm hungry too. Can I have a sandwich?" Kronii asked
"Yeah you can," my papa said, "you want berries, right, Mumei?" My papa said
I nodded, and he laughed. I glared at him angrily and asked, "Why is it funny?" I asked
"No reason," my papa stated.
Fauna and Kronii seemed happy to be here; they were looking around, scanning the house to see everything around.
"Do you have Mumei's baby pictures!?" They both suddenly asked.
"You want to see them?" My father said
"Yes!" They both said it cheerfully.
I glared at them with dejection, but their looks didn't waver; they wanted to see my baby pictures.
"You will now see my baby pictures!" I told them
My papa looked at me and sighed. "You can't enforce that the vote is three to one anyway," he said.
"Ughh...fine, I guess we will look at them," I said.
"Thank you!" Fauna and Kronii said
This was the most I've seen them agree with each other, but as long as they're happy, I'm happy.
