Zeta pov: I was running around gathering anything Ela could possibly need. I need her to be comfortable. She needs to be as relaxed as possible.
"I'm hungry," Ela told me.
"What do you want to eat?" I asked
"I'm craving noodles," she told me.
"Got it!" I told her
"Put mushrooms in it!" She told me
"Okay!" I said to her.
I need to hurry up and get her food since she's hungry. I scurried into the kitchen and got her food, bringing it to the bedroom and sitting back in my chair.
"I'll feed you," I told her.
"Thank you," Ela replied.
I didn't want her to thank me; we both know why I'm acting like this. I need to tend to her every need and satiate all her urges, no matter how weird they are.
I slowly fed her the noodles with mushrooms. She seemed to really enjoy it, more so than usual. As she finished, she let out a sigh.
"Are you thirsty?" I asked her
"Uhhhh... yeah, get me tea," she told me.
I completely forgot to ask Calli-senpai and Kiara-senpai how they dealt with their cravings. I wish I didn't forget that this must be how Mumei-senpai feels.
"Zeta, you should rest," Kaela suggested.
I would, but she needs to be tended to, even if she falls asleep. I can't just stop watching her. We are expecting something big right now, so I can't sleep.
I'm worried about accidentally falling asleep, even though it's now daytime.
How would Mumei-senpai deal with this? Honestly, I don't want to know. She would have two ladies to deal with, and I don't think she could do that. Maybe she can since she is the best.
"Are you ready to go?" Selen asked me
"Uhhhh, well, I kind of have to watch Kaela; she's..." Selen cut me off.
"I know what's going on with her... How about this instead of a grand adventure, we go out on a little stroll? I don't want to strain her," she said
"How thoughtful of you! I thought you were some punk that Mumei-senpai called her rival." I scoffed
"Who the fuck do you think you are calling yourself Mumei's right-hand woman?" Selen asked
"Ladies, don't fight; get some help." Kaela said
I looked at Kaela and sighed. I can't be mad at her, at least not right now. I want her to be extra comfy and safe, so nothing happens to her.
Kaela seemed happy with her nice treatment. I was spoiling her quite a bit, so that's why she was so happy. I don't think I've ever spoiled her like I have been doing recently.
"We won't fight; if we did, I'd kick her ass," Selen said.
"Nooooo... Mumei thinks I'm stronger," I said.
"I literally rival Mumei, so incorrect..." Selen said
The two of us began to argue back and forth about this, and Ela began to sigh, shutting us up.
"If you are going to argue, get out!" She said loudly
She's angry all of a sudden, and she's going through mood swings that are honestly understandable due to her current state.
I will try not to fight with Selen, despite the fact that I am still not really a fan of how buddy-buddy she is with Mumei-senpai. I am jealous, to be honest. Mumei-senpai relies on her; she may also go to her if she needs help.
I always assumed Mumei-senpai only really needed me, but it turns out there was someone else that my senpai relies on. It's so frustrating to me.
Thinking back before now, Kaela and I didn't really have a good life. We needed money, so all we could do was work. I never really got to see her much, but these past few days have really changed that. Mumei-senpai really helped me.
If Mumei-senpai hadn't held her hand out to me again, I would be doing the same thing as a bounty hunter and a secret agent, and Kaela would do her blacksmith duties without any breaks.
Kaela overworked herself all the time, which always upset me. I wanted her to stop working so hard, and now we have the chance to start over.
Selen was gathering things for our adventure or our quick stroll, and now she was about ready.
"Ela, do you need to rest for a bit longer?" I asked
"No, I can walk," she said to me.
I nodded even so, and I helped her up because I wanted her to be safe. Kaela kind of pushed me off so I could open the door for her.
"Have you two eaten?" She asked us
Our stomachs both growled, and Ela looked at us and said, "I'll say no." He silently laughed.
"I've been tending to you," I said.
"I've been too busy bullying Elira," Selen said.
"Well, you two need to eat before you make me hungry again," Ela said.
Selen and I made instant noodles, and we began to race to see who could finish first. After we finished in a tie, we realized we were still starving, so we made some more. We both kept doing this until we were full, but we still tied.
"Damn it..." I yelled
"How did you tie me!?" Selen asked
"I'll eat one more container!" I shouted
"Zeta, that won't be good for your body!" Ela told me
She was right. I'm not going to let a silly rivalry destroy my body, even though I am modified.
Actually, I don't know how my body really works. Now that I know I can't have the minimal amount of modifications, I have to have some special stuff, but I've never tried anything.
I think I can hold my breath for an hour or so, but I haven't tried that. I feel like I've been more cautious about things than I was before I was modified. I don't go in all guns blazing anymore.
"Let's go," Selen said.
I looked at Kaela and decided to give her a piggyback ride. I don't want her to stress herself at all.
