Out In Town

Mumei pov: The three of us woke up, immediately got ready for the day, and ran downstairs.

"Are you three ready to go out?" My father asked

I nodded, frowning, because I sensed that Bae was looking for us. Can't the three of us just have a small vacation? We're usually the ones who stick to the rules. We need a break sometimes. It's not like we are trying to get away from council duties.

"Fauna, can you kiss me?" Kronii asked

"I can..." Fauna stated as she walked past the warden and caught up to me.

"Faunaaaaaaaaa!" Kronii cried out.

"What?" Fauna asked

"I want a kiss!" Kronii pleaded

"Good for you," Fauna said.

"Mumei, my wife won't kiss me!" Kronii cried out.

"Fauna is my wife too." I sighed

I didn't want to get in between those two; they are just teasing one another; that's just what they do all the time. I don't think I can really stop that.

"Fauna, maybe you should kiss her," I suggested.

Fauna cocked her head to the side and looked at Kronii; she seemed lost in thought. She began to tap her foot.

"Fine," she softly said before walking over and pecking Kronii's lips.

"Now I want you to kiss me, Mumei!" Kronii said

I just signed and kissed her; she would complain if I didn't, so I don't want to hear it. She just needs to relax a bit.

"Let's go," my papa said as he grabbed his bag.

"You two make sure Bae can't sense you," I told them.

"Okay, I'll only do it if you and Kronii kiss me, though," Fauna said.

I glared at her and sighed. "So needy," I said to her. She blushed in response.

"Yes, but only because you two are so cute," Fauna stated.

I laughed a bit, to be honest. I didn't know how well Kronii and Fauna would mix. I didn't want them to fight, which is why I didn't choose one or the other, but it turns out they are content with it being the three of us after all.

The two of us quickly kissed her so we could be on our way.

"Can I bring a dagger?" I asked my papa.

"You can, but why?" He asked

"To be honest, I have no idea; usually I have one, and it makes me feel safer," I explained.

"She likes to kill things sometimes," Fauna said.

"And that's correct," I said.

My papa laughed at that. "Just like old times," he said cheerfully.

Fauna and Kronii both forgot that my father is my father, so they didn't really think about the fact that he knows how I usually act.

We all gathered the rest of our stuff and walked outside.

"So, Mumei, tell me about your sisters," my father said.

"So there is a really horny Austrian phoenix girl, her name is Kiara; we call her a chicken though; there is a beautiful Indonesian peafowl, Reine; we call her a turkey; there is a funny duck, Subaru; and the cutest hawk, Lui!" I told him

"I see," he said briefly before clearing his throat.

"Whenever there is a lost bird, we add it to our family," I said.

"That sounds fun," my papa chuckled.

"Technically, that isn't all of my sisters now; there is Calli, Bae, Irys, Chloe, and Ayame-senpai. I think I don't know who Subaru is with, to be honest," I said.

"Yeah, the family tree is kind of messed up now." Kronii stated

"I had a thought you didn't have a penguin sibling." My papa stated

That is true; the closest thing to a penguin is Kaela, and she won't admit she is one.

"I'll be on the lookout," I told him.

He nodded. He seemed pleased with how I've been living. I want him to be proud of me after all. I'm happy that he likes Fauna and Kronii so far.

"So what do you girls want to do?" He asked us

"What do you do for fun here?" Fauna asked

"Let's go out for breakfast, and then we can go to the carnival or something," my papa said.

We went to a nearby restaurant, which was oddly fancy to be around here. They definitely remodeled this place since the last time I was here; however, the food looks as good as ever.

"There are vegan options here, don't you worry," my papa said to Fauna.

"Oh, you actually remembered I'm vegan?" Fauna questioned

"Of course I would. Why would I forget my daughter's wife's words?" My father said

"We just assumed since you are Mumei's father you were prone to forget stuff," Kronii said.

My father began to laugh heartily due to what they said; he was really happy they brought that up.

"I do forget things, but if they relate to my daughter, I can and will remember everything because I don't want to mess up and I want to be a good parent since the other one walked out on her and calls her a vessel," my father said.

"Thank you for setting Mumei on the right path!" The two of them said

"It's no problem; I'm just doing my job as her father. I can't really give her a mother's love though," he said.

"But it seems like you gave that to her," Fauna said.

"That is true. I have always tried to give her both fatherly and motherly love; that's why I look the way I do," my father said.

"Do people judge you for your feminine appearance?" Fauna asked

"Some do, but others understand why I went to those lengths with Mumei," he said.

"You know what? Anyone who slandered you will get their asses kicked!" Kronii said

My papa chucked a bit.

"Mumei definitely rubbed off on you both, that's for sure," he said.

"I'm grateful for everything you've done for me, so I'll help you gain a good image," I said.

"Mumei, just be yourself," he told me.

Those words are ones I will always live by.
