RHEILA'S POV
"Finally!"
When Christmas came, I happily dressed up because I was going to celebrate it with my family. I miss them so much! Ngayon ko lang ulit sila makakasama na mag-celebrate ng Christmas kaya natutuwa ako. I was dressed in only a white skirt and a red crop top. I also had on sneakers and a red headband on.
"Losing him was blue like I'd never known! Missing him was dark gray, all alone..."
I suddenly started singing while I was driving to our house because I was so happy talaga! Masaya akong nag-drive at kumakanta yata ako buong byahe. Napatigil lang ako bigla dahil tumatawag si Airen.
"Hello?" Sagot ko habang naka-focus sa daan. Sumulyap pa ako sa pangalan niya na nasa screen.
["Merry Christmas!"]
Napangiti ako at napangisi. "Kung makabati ka, parang hindi mo ako kasamang sumalubong ng pasko kagabi, ah."
Natawa siya. Nag-usap pa kami habang nagda-drive at natawa pa ako dahil pareho kaming nagd-drive papunta sa mga bahay namin. Airen will celebrate Christmas with his family and so will I. And yeah, magkasama kaming sinalubong ang pasko.
"Ate Rheila!"
My smile widened when I got out of the car because I saw Aljur who greeted me with a hug. Jusko, ang tangkad na niya! Hays, nasa lahi yata namin ang matatangkad.
Ay, hala, charot.
I was laughing as we walked inside as he was still embracing me. Nakuha namin ang atensyon ng iba kong kapatid at nagulat sila sa presensya ko.
"Oh, our Rheila is here na!" Sigaw ni Ate at tumakbo para yakapin ako.
"A-ate, hindi ako makahinga..." She laughed as she released her embrace to mine.
"Kuya JL!" Bumeso ako kay Kuya JL at binalingan ko naman si Kuya JC na nagluluto sa kusina.
"Hi, Kuya JC! Sipag, ah?" Tinapik ko lang ang balikat niya bilang pagbati dahil naka-apron pa siya.
I walked into the living room after leaving him in the kitchen. I kept vigil over the entire home. There have been several changes. In an effort to perhaps feel at peace when we were here, my siblings and I made the decision to renovate the house. Each area in this home, I must say, evokes a different memory. I've decided not to recall and to forget about those memories.
My siblings and I don't have any problems anymore. We have our own lives and are busy. Tanging ang mga magulang na lang namin ang gusto naming maayos. I mean, parang may gusto kaming abutin and that is the justice, which in my eyes, is still not for us. Pero sana makuha pa rin namin 'yon, kahit sa matagal na panahon pa 'yon, iintayin ko, namin.
