Shiro frowned as he watched Lotor take a stand to the front of the classroom, gaining every soldier's attention. Having almost all eyes on him, all the soldiers trust and loyalty already. Something Shiro found himself losing since Lotor had questioned him during a battle four months ago, had overtaken the leadership role and gained a victory in style.

Shiro didn't blame everyone around him.

Lotor made the right call, Shiro might have gotten some of his soldiers killed or those in other units killed. He had placed them in more danger than his intel had let him look over and know over, Lotor's plan ended up being the better one.

It left Lotor as the new and shiny new toy in class. Left him rarely played with and left every child wanting to grab him and experience the joy of a brand new toy before he's ruined by every other child's grabby hands.

Shiro was the worn, old and damaged toy that was left dropped at the bottom of the toy box. He's had his time, been passed down from generation to generation and somehow not thrown away due to being buried under so many other toys.

It was time for Shiro to be replayed and forgotten.

Or, so he had thought.

He'd watched as his shortest and youngest member of his unit seemed to casually glance around with a troubled frown. Finally watching her stand up without any excuse or pre-warning, merely standing and slipping out from the desk she shared with Keith. Keith and Katie had always been a dream team whenever togehter, the duo was a dangerous and powerful team up that Shiro has placed his trust in many times.

It's why he was surprised that Katie wasn't paying attention to Lotor, the unspoken agreement to be their new main leader for all soldiers that worked close with the Voltron squad. Katie always paid attention, took notices and paid deep attention to every word spoken and ever detail given. Her genius brain taking in the orders and mapping plans and results on the spot.

Hence Shiro was left shocked as he watched her head towards him without a care. Not seeming to overly enjoy all the unwanted attention now placed upon her for moving so suddenly during a debrief.

"And what do you think you're doing?" Lotor asked clearly unimpressed over the soldier just moving around while he was trying to explain his plan over the next set of orders given to them all.

"Shiro's lead us this far just fine in my eyes. He's leading us to victory, not to make history. He's going to give us victory, one we'd see with our own eyes and not from the grave" Katie answered honestly as she came to a stop, looking towards Lotor as if he was an imposter. Fully believing Shiro as her leader and trusting him with her life and future.

And it seems her words hit too close to home for almost every soldier sitting in the room with her. All glancing down to the desks or sharing looks. Having realized that their latest orders and battles have been more towards making history than an actual victory. That their lives have drastically changed since Lotor took over out of the blue and shoved Shiro into the background.
