No one had expected for Mitch Iverson to take in an orphan when the man's worse nightmare was dealing with children and teenagers. So, it was a huge shock for Sam when his oldest friend had mentioned that he's taken in an newly orphan boy. In truth, Sam had assumed his friend was having a stroke or some other life threatening event somehow and phoned his wife to drive them both to the nearest Hospital as Sam felt too shaken up to drive himself. 

After many tests being done on Mitch, Sam and Colleen both finally calmed down and accepted the man was simply having a midlife crisis instead. Happily accepting Takashi Shirogane into their blended family. Knowing Shiro, as he prefers to be called, would most likely be spending a lot of time with the Holt's while Iverson's busy with the Garrison. 

And it was true, Shiro practically shared a room with Matthew at the Holt house. Both boys who were only a few months apart grew rather close and stood as the best of friends.

When the pair were seven, Katie Holt had came along and took full power over both her new brothers. She was a little devil and an unstoppable force when Colleen wasn't about to control her daughter. 

Soon after, Keith Kogane, who was only four, came along and was taken in by Iverson too. Leaving the man now a single father towards two boys who saw Colleen as the main boss between all three adults. Something Iverson praised them for doing since Colleen was indeed the boss and completely terrifying. 

As the years past, bonds and relationships grew and bloomed. Shaping and shifting to fit all four of them as they grew to be the person they chose and were raised to be. Feelings and views changing them all but all of them still sitting as a blended family together. 

It was when Katie was four when the first love sign was noticed. 

Shiro had simply commented over how Keith's fondness was only growing towards Matthew and that it might actual be growing into a crush now.

Katie didn't know what a crush was, she just stared towards her brother and best friend, seeing nothing different between them then what she's seen all her life between them. But she did research what the meaning of a crush was before bed and understood what Shiro was hinting over.

So, the next day, after the others came back from school, she had decided she'd team up with Shiro over their brother's future love life. 

She had stood up, chunky and chubby legs in view as she was stuck in shorts and a dress. Socks and shoes long since been thrown off and hidden up for the sake of freedom for her feet. 

Shiro had glanced towards her, noticing her wobbling around the room while not disturbing anyone. Matt was helping Keith with the homework he was struggling with while Shiro sat a little away, reading. 

Katie finally stopping and stretching out her arms, sticking out only her two pointy fingers, she draw a heart shape in the air with Matt and Keith stuck in the centre of it. 

Shiro grinned, catching up on the teasing and soon made kissing faces over the pair. The two being playful and teasing as they made fun of the unexpecting pair.
