Katie smirked as she walked straight past an startled Acxa. Nodding in greeting as she passed both Ezor and Zethrid who was clearly on their way towards her room with a new dress she was expected to wear.
A dress that Katie didn't give anything more than an disgusted glance towards. Carrying on her way with her hunter outfit on, having gotten one of the turned vampires to return it to her room as she freed the humans.
Ezor seemed surprised, questioning over them misunderstanding Lotor's orders. Zethrid merely laughed like an mad person, clearly gaining some entertainment from it all. Acxa chasing after her, calling out and seeming panicked as Katie completely ignored her.
"Sorry ladies but why should a Queen follow a mere Prince's orders when she holds all the power?" Katie yells over her shoulder, making it clear she understood her place here and it was time that everyone else did too.
Zethrid merely laughed once more, seeming prouder. Ezor whooping over it all, calling out an "long live the queen" while waving her hands in the air. Acxa only stumbled to a stop, looking distressed over the whole thing.
If Katie was trapped here, why couldn't she trap all the other nutjobs here too. Make sure that their dreamed plans never came a reality.
And if she grows too cornered, she'll make sure to not miss her heart as she takes her own life.
Meanwhile...
"You've seen her?!" Shiro yelled out, staring towards the two they had stopped to question and gained much more than they had expected.
"Yes. She helped to free us" Shay confessed with an hurried nod, filling with relief that they finally came across a pair of hunters. Both she and Hunk had travelled with very little rest since they were freed, desperate to find an hunter to help with Pidge needed rescue.
"She mentioned being trapped there. I think they wouldn't allow her to leave even if she tries" Hunk hurried to add with worry as he looked to the three hunters and one man of the law all travelling together in search of Pidge and the rumoured prince.
"Did she seem hurt?" Lance questioned with concern clear in his eyes, praying his friend wasn't too badly hurt.
"I don't think so" Shay answered, a little unsure since she didn't see much of Pidge and didn't really know if a vampire would have been hurt or not.
A silence taking over them all. Relief filling some, knowing that Katie was at least alive for now and was much closer than she was. Keith's been pulling in flavours from all type of people and places in the past few days, all of them forced to rarely rest during their fast travels as they chased after the missing women.
"Was she fed? Have any of them collected any blood from any of the other prisoners?" Keith quietly asked, standing tensed as he feared over the answer. He knew things could grow much worse or dangerous depending on their reply.
"No. They took some blood before her arrival but they suddenly stopped. It must have been the night she arrived. Not a single drop of blood had been taken since her arrival. Pidge helped us, I think she'll find herself in some real trouble soon. Please help her" Hunk replied with a small frown, his eyebrows furrowed as the whole blood taking stopping had confused him. He had assumed they'd be fed from daily and some were before it was suddenly stopped.
"Why wouldn't they have fed since her arrival?" James asked, not understanding vampires completely and turning to the hunters for an explanation.
"Promised girl. They were clearly planning to make an ceremony out of it. Starve her until she's thirty enough to attack the first food supply shown to her. Lost to her blood lust that she'd easily agree to their ways, get caught up in the hype. They're after her womb and her blood" Keith blurted out with pure dread, knowing why she was taken.
At first Keith had merely thought that Lotor had assumed she was an turned vampire. Had taken her to an turned vampire camp to live the rest of her life in safety. That she was seen as simply as a vampire. But now he knew he was wrong. That it was much worse than he first assumed.
"You don't mean that they've learnt she's able to give birth to a female vampire. That they're going to go with the plans that the camp you saved her from what they had tried doing.." Lance replied with horror, dread filling his eyes as he realized what Keith was hinting towards.
"It's the only reason she was taken. Lotor is as insane as the other camp was. He's going to use her to birth the promised girl. A female vampire. If she wants to birth one or not" Keith hissed out as he ran a hand through his hair, tensing up as he knew why Lotor her stolen her from him.
"That's terrible" Shay sobbed back, clinging to her husband as tears filled her eyes.
"She won't last long if they've removed all meals from the castle grounds. None of them would last before giving in to their blood lust as they starve. Heck, some might already be too far gone in their blood lust as they crave blood. We're walking into a dangerous place. We're not strong enough to handle an castle full of blood thirsty monsters" Shiro warned with an grimace as he knew he had to speak relational towards the others. Any camp filled with starving vampires were dangerous and normally took large teams of hunters.
"I'm going. I had the chance to kill her when we first meant and I backed out. She had accepted her death, merely asked for me to at least burry her brother like he deserved. I chose to give her a second chance and now, she's been imprisoned all over again. I chose to keep her alive, It's my duty to let her at least live happily and free during her second chance. And if I can't save, I'll take her life as she was willing to let me take before. To make sure she'd never be used as a vampire's tool ever again" Keith snapped back, determined and desperate to get her back or at least be the one to steal her life. He won't leave her to suffer to vampires ever again and he'll burn the whole castle down if he must.
"You won't do it alone. She's our friend too and she's saved us all before. Only fair we have her back when she needs us too" Lance told his friend, never looking as serious as he was then. He was going to help bring his friend back and teach the vampire prince who kidnapped her some manners too.
"First we need to find a way to reach the castle and fast. Before we grow to be too late" Shiro sighed as he crossed his arms over his chest.
Keith glanced to the rising sun, frowning and his eyes distance and longing. The world wasn't as bright as it was when Katie was beside him. That every new day seemed less exciting without her rambling over what type of adventure she was looking forward towards next.
Keith just wanted her back.
He felt so empty and number without her with him.
His life was no longer complete if she wasn't in it.
And he knew he had to tell her that, to finally allow their bond to grow into something new, if she'd have him at least.
"I'm coming, Katie. I promise I'll find you" Keith thinks to himself as he stares towards the sky, knowing she was somewhere below it. So close and yet so far away.
