It had all began by an alternate universe Red Paladin and Green Paladin who were three years older than their other realties selves had shown up on one of Keith's blade missions. 

He would forever refuse to accept that he was a little slow on recognizing the pair straight away. Even though he really should have been able to tell who they were from a single look. In his defence, he was on a dangerous mission, trying to stop a war while survive long enough to see the end of said war and had two strangers in helmets appear out of nowhere. 

Of course he attacked them. 

But Antok and Regris big brothers senses tingled and raced towards him and for some odd reason, the two half Galran's had jumped in to protect the two strangers than Keith. 

Keith would admit he was a little hurt by that fact. Regris hasn't stopped teasing him and basically adopted him as his half breed little brother. Just as Antok had basically took one look at Pidge and decided that the little genius was now his cub and adopted her on sight, promising a brutal death to any who harmed her or even thought over it. Pidge injuries were purposely kept hidden from Antok as the half breed blade member had already stormed one Galra cruise and blew it up without warning for shooting at the Green Lion that held his green, smart baby inside. 

Shiro was even hissed out when he had grown too close to where Antok had sat with a sleeping Pidge in his lap when he had learnt the green paladin had hardly slept in a couple of days. It took Shiro awkwardly being branded as "other parent" for the black paladin to be able to be near Pidge whenever Antok turned into a mother hen over her. 

Everyone else would be attacked if they even entered the room while he was mothering Pidge. Pidge had just learnt to accept Antok as another parent and decided she was going to enjoy daytime naps for as long as she was given them. 

But returning to the other alternate paladins, Keith should have known them. 

Mostly due to one of them being an older him and the other being an older Pidge. 

The two current engaged, promised to marry once their own war was won. 

Keith has never been more jealous over himself before. 

The older him had gained a family and had fought to keep it, even refusing to accept the blades offer to stand as one of them. Throwing away any chances of finding his mother, over learning the truth to the blade he was left with or any of his parents history. 

His older self had chosen the family blessed to him during the war and decided he didn't need anything more than them in his life. Growing love and keeping it during the war and gaining himself an actual family. 

So, Keith had took older other Keith and older other Katie, she chose the name since she knew her other self most likely still went as Pidge. Keith merely nodded. Awkwardly tried to gain any clues if Katie ever found her family, hoping to bring some good news to his Pidge, but his older self caught up and shot him down before his future wide could ramble out such spoilers. 

Keith hated how his older other self made sense by warning him over their universes being different meaning they'd all live a different life. All their paths would have been chosen by their own fates and that not all would have been the same.
