Katie had returned as unharmed as she had left.

A new peace within her eyes as much as her heart as she's cut the strings still keeping her trapped to the past.

But even with her better health and happier feel, Keith had stayed by her side like an love sick puppy who's owner had been away all day.

It was an odd sight for all to see and no one had been brave enough to even dare to speak over it.

Katie didn't seem to mind, telling Keith over her travels.

Even passing him a small and low costing dagger that she had bought him as a gift. Mentioning that she'd came across it during her travels and it had made him come to mind. Not due do the knight being skilled with his sword but due to him always mentioning how any old blade could be a well trusted weapon as long as it's loved right.

Keith had taken to caring for the dagger he'd never find any real need for but not once daring to even think over throwing it away. Keeping it in his room and always on display to bring him a smile after the hardest day of work.

A few others that had grown to be friends or family to Katie had gained gifts as well. Hunk, a cook for the castle, had worn a new yellow apron with his name sewn across it like an rainbow, the sewn name done by Katie's own hands for her newly gained best friend. Lance, one of the castle's gardeners who failed to stand as neither a knight nor soldier in his youth, was walking around with a flower patterned scarf. The scarf itself was thin and good for summer, a little girlish but Lance didn't seem to mind as it reminded him over his mother's flowers back home.

Shiro had gained an "magic" wooden pendant that was meant to ward away spiders, something Shiro had hurried to tuck away somewhere safe in his bedroom. He never wanted to come across another spider near where he sleeps again.

For King Adam, Katie had passed over a book that some may seem too poor or unfit for a king but Adam adored. He'd taken to reading it in-between his duties for the rest of the week. Calling Katie to join him for a cup of tea after reading the book and discussing it with her.

As well as the head of the guard, Iverson, was gifted a wooden spoon to help replace the stick shoved up his reared in case it ever breaks.

Keith may have helped Katie hide for the rest of the day after she had passed her gift directly to Iverson in person. He still snickers whenever the words "Wood, Stick or gift" is mentioned around him and Iverson. Adam would send him disapproving looks over his snickering while Shiro would casually hide his own snort with a cough.

But the good never lasts, not when things seem truly good.

Queen Allura had taken to visiting, as she was planned to do but an extra royal had sent a letter of warning on their arrival just a day before their actual arrival. King Lotor, newly given to his kingdom's thrown due to his father's recent passing.

King Lotor ruled the kingdom that they currently weren't friends with nor held any truces over. He ruled the very same kingdom that Shiro and Katie had been imprisoned and living in without hope of rescue. Leaving the king hated by both and those closest to them. As well as the royals over the kingdom a sore spot for them.
