Katie waited until she felt more of the castle spread evenly with turned vampires. Most having gone to bed and maybe a handful left to guard or patrol the castle. Either left to defend their home from threats or make sure none of their prisoners escaped.
Katie didn't care over why a small amount of turned vampires were left about to wonder inside and outside of the castle. She merely cared over helping as many innocent lives as she could that haven't grown tainted hearted.
She was seen as an Queen meaning it was perfectly normal for her to take a look around her new home and those chosen to carry a drop of her blood. She could go anywhere she wanted and not a soul would dare to speak out against her. Not when she held her head up high, pretending to have grown into her newly realised power and accepting herself as their Queen.
Anyone she did pass was left gushing and beaming over having her on their side. To have her accept their plan and be the one to bring forward the promised girl, the first daughter.
She had feared over Acxa or Lotor appearing.
That both would be keeping awake or expecting her to try escaping but neither showed up at any point.
She even walked the inside of the castle a couple of times to test if they'd come searching for her at all.
But neither did and she knew to take her chance, even take the risks of a trap being laid out.
Katie realized she'd need the prisoners help in the escape.
She held no clue where they were nor the numbers of humans captured.
Or worse, how many were able to still walk and move by themselves.
She couldn't blindly set them free if they'd only be left running around like headless chickens as they grew lost and weak.
It left her squatting by one of the old cells.
The metal bars looked rusty and ready to snap at a single tap to them.
But Katie knew none of the humans would have tried escaping, enough rumours over vampires cruelty or preferred punishments would have been spoken in all human towns.
And with a small amount of men being captured, it meant that the vampires would use the men to scare and teach the women into behaving and doing as they demanded from them. To use the men to beed on and for the new-borns vampires who don't eat their mothers from the inside out to feed on the men instead.
For the women unlucky enough to survive the labour and have their womb left uneaten by the child, they'd most likely be forced to birth the next batch of promised daughters next.
They'd be stop birthing enough daughters and the handful of expected sons until they're eaten by their own vampire children or too weak to carry on with being used to breed.
It was disgusting and Katie hated it.
"I know none of you hold any reason to trust someone like me but I need your help to free you all. I fight beside hunters but was taken from them recently. I don't know where I stand to be and I can't blindly free you all to escape if we don't know where to run towards for safety. As well as needing to form a plan for those unable to move without help" Katie softly called out as she kneeled in the centre of the corridor, staying in the candle light for all the imprisoned humans to gain a glance at her if they peeked from their cells.
