Side Note: In Katie's flashbacks she wore purple and I like how the fandom accepted her favourite colour might actually be purple before she prefers green by becoming a paladin or because it being her brother's favourite colour so she wrapped herself in his colour to feel safer. So, I'm going to use the feel of her once loving the colour purple long ago.
She's lived with the fact she's been lying to him since just a few hours after they had met the second time. She would be honest over the fact that she never remembered their first meeting, he was just a stranger she didn't bother to think much over at the time.
But now, he was her best friend, her crush.
And in some bad joke of the universe, she was his biggest hero.
He just didn't know it was her all along.
She wasn't proud over her past completely. She protected herself and those around her. She stepped in to protect strangers who were bullied and tried to teach bullies a lesson and force them to experience what they do to others.
Some stopped, some just ran away and found new prey instead.
She was small, always seen as tiny but smart and was always a huge target for mean words and cruel teases. She wouldn't say she was badly bullied, kids were just nasty.
Her brother didn't want her to learn self defence. He wanted her safe but he didn't want her to risk falling into the power that could make her become a bully one day if she snapped. He didn't agree with fighting, not physically at least. He wanted her safe and protected .. he just didn't want her have to fight to feel safe. Nor did he want her to fall into the trap of always having to fight for other's who couldn't fight for themselves.
He wanted her to experience a happy and loving childhood. To gain normal school memories and not be forced to become some rumoured hero that everyone gossiped and built such a high and always growing stand over. Hero's become trapped in everyone else's wishes and miss out on their own happiness after all.
But her other brother, well, her brother's best friend who was pretty much an adopted brother and son by their family by this point. He wanted her to be able to defend herself. He taught her a few moves to use if any of the mean comments turned into cruel actions. He wanted her to be able to hold her own enough to run away and gain help.
It's why she was allowed to hang out with them while their parents worked so late and none stop all the time. Her brother was happy to stay home, watch some children shows or take her to the park for her innocence to last. But once it was clear she was already caught up in the thought to become stronger and admired their makeshift adopted brother, he let her join them both after school.
She loved the purple colour.
So, of course, when she stepped up to bad teens and kids, purple was always seen. She'd stand up, give them a warning to apologize and walk away. Allowing them to throw the first punch or kick before hitting back.
Violet became her nickname.
The hero Violet because they're always wearing something purple.
Violet's gender wasn't ever agreed on, so many victims had passed on their stories and so many seasons meant so many different form of clothing style, showing skin or being buried under hundreds of layers.
