Side Note: Dance/Dance competition's Au. Have I been inspired by the Step up films after coming across some scenes from the old movies that I forgot about .. yes, yes I have.

Side Note 2: I think to think that Pidge and Matt would dance like Moose from Step up. Pidge being a bit more skilled than her brother due to growing up watching him dance from his early teens and copying his moves before turning them into her own and creating new ones. She'd have been dancing longer than him in the end.

Also, if you don't know who Moose is ... god, you were born in the wrong generation for a moment there. If you youtube Moose dance's from Step up there are vidoes showing most of them if that helps.

Matt felt his heart break as he watched their national team's rivals dance an all out amazing impressive routine. Scoring high by the judges and letting the crowd go wild all around.

He glanced down to the green cast on his right arm, it was bulky and heavy and made it impossible for him to do any flips, head spins or anything that didn't keep his feet mostly on the ground. He grew some muscle thanks to late puberty but he hasn't been dancing as long as most of the people preforming at these competitions.

He was good, his first dance during try outs got him a place on the team straight away. He brought something new to the dance world, a new type of skill the rest of the team didn't have.

But he needed balance.

His cast stole his balance.

He glanced around, hoping for some kind of miracle to just appear and help save the day. Well, afternoon, it was six pm. His parents weren't here thankfully, they supported him with dance lessons when he first started out at age fourteen.

He was late to join any dance lessons or trying to go pro. Didn't join any teams until he was in collage and he lacked skill in certain areas but so did everyone, pro or not. He worked on dancing to his own tune, turning his body into the rhythm of any song.

His parents were kind, encouraged him even when classmates in high school had dropped unpleasant comments or jokes over him trying to become a dancer. Sure, he wasn't bullied. He was smart but an overly friendly and understanding guy. He was liked by everyone. He was lucky like that but no one held much hope over him becoming a dancer either and just assumed it was some late teenage rebelling for him.

His parents and his baby sister, sneaking around to watch him at all hours of the day. Copying from where she was hiding and becoming a dance god herself. Those three made him carry on improving and dancing forward. And it's why he knew they held full faith in his moves that he didn't want them at competitions.

His parents fully believed he could win, bring home any medal or trophy or title given out to the winners. They were never disappointed when he lost, everyone loses at some point, that was life and promised that there was always next time. But he still didn't want his parents there, they've done enough for him and there was nothing they could do from the stands.

But right now, as his cast felt like a bag of rocks tied to his arm while he was drowned in water. He prayed for at least one member of his family to be here. He knew it was cheating but if anyone could help him, it would be her.
