I came across an MattHoltEdit today and it held the quote "It was my brain that got me into the Galaxy, Garrison. I guess it was my brains. Could have been my good looks. Or my big muscles". 

It left me just thinking.. Matt's glow up was foretold to us all.

And Matthew, being the best brother but embarrassing brother ever still, would find a way to reuse that sentence after his glow up. Knowing he's gone from a cute nerd to a hot nerd that makes others fall on their knees before him. 

And Shiro... who see's Matt as his best friend. A man who is practically his platonic soulmate. And Shiro's like.. I am divorce now, time to make him my romantic soulmate.

Shiro had known that Matthew's hair grew a little when they sat as prisoners to the Galra. But he had lost sight of Matthew not long after injuring him so he wouldn't be forced to fight in the ring. Losing Matt had hurt more then any of the wounds given to him in those fights. 

To be alone.

He'd only ever been during his childhood before joining the Garrison Galaxy. Since his first day, he was favoured by both students and teachers. But he more importantly gained Matthew Holt as his best friend. He gained Adam as a friend, as a lover as a husband before losing him. But Matt, he had stuck with him just as he's always done. 

Sam Holt was his mentor but Matt was the person that held his greatest respect and admiration. 

Every future Shiro had dreamed over, Matt was always in them, mostly as his best friend since he assumed he'd always be with Adam. 

But in space, when he dreamt over freedom and knowing that Adam was never going to be apart of his life again. Those dreams of two best friend's standing side by side to face everything and anything turned into two boyfriend's prepared to create a future together instead. 

At first, Shiro assumed he was just lonely and clinging to the last person he had seen that he knew and felt safe around. 

But then he saw Matthew Holt again after Pidge had found him. 

And woah, Shiro knew that his crust was full on bloom to love now. 

Matt was always cute and good looking in his own way.

He wasn't voted the most handsome in class but Matt had enough charms that anyone would be lucky to have his love and hand in marriage. 

But Matthew had clearly beaten those late grown spurts genes while in space alone for almost two years.  

Shiro was starting to fear that he might start acting like a horny teenager all over again whenever he was around Matt. 

How soon could a person date after a divorce, more so when you had married your Garrison sweetheart? 

He's sure that Adam wouldn't be overly surprised if he did ask for Matt's hand in marriage since Adam did always joke the pair of them were already married to each other. Shiro would just be making the joke true.
