The rest of the day with Keiji wasn't as bad as (Y/n) had feared it would be. He kept up the same light-hearted, clingy act, making jokes and tossing pillows around, like everything was normal like she hadn't just uncovered parts of her lost past the night before.
However, one thing stood out: he never let her inside his room. Every time she even glanced toward it, he'd quickly steer her away, changing the subject with a laugh or suggesting they try something else. It was strange, considering she'd been in that room before, hadn't she? The memory flickered hazily in the back of her mind, but she tucked it away for later.
Instead, Keiji led her to the living room, where the TV flickered with grainy static before switching to a horror movie.
"We need to get in the spooky mood!" Keiji declared enthusiastically, bouncing on the couch next to her like an excited child. "Halloween's next week, after all!"
(Y/n) sat down beside him, forcing herself to relax as the opening credits rolled. At least now she knew the truth. She knew she couldn't just walk out of here, not when she was a suspect for murder. If the police found her, she'd rot in jail long before they even considered questioning the boys. If she wanted to get out, she'd need evidence. Proof that could put them away.
She needed to play it smart.
Keiji was all too eager to cuddle up beside her, wrapping his arms around her like she was a beloved stuffed animal. He made a show of covering his face whenever the tension in the movie spiked, peeking out from behind his fingers with a sheepish grin.
"Scary, huh?" he whispered, pressing himself tighter against her side. It would have been almost cute if it didn't feel so suffocating. But (Y/n) let him cling to her. The closer he was, the more time it bought her.
She kept her mind busy as the movie played. Planning, calculating. She could almost feel the gears turning in her head, working through different scenarios. She needed time. She needed to gather evidence, to figure out exactly what these boys had done and how she could escape. But she also needed to act carefully; one wrong move, and they'd realize she knew too much.
For now, she'd let Keiji wrap himself around her and play the innocent, terrified boy. It gave her the chance to think and to observe.
And then she heard the sound of the front door opening.
Her heart dropped into her stomach as she stiffened beneath Keiji's grip. She turned her head slowly, just in time to see the others walking into the house.
First came Souta, his usual scowl etched into his face. Riku followed, his expression blank, as always, but when his eyes landed on (Y/n) and Keiji tangled together on the couch, his steps faltered.
Kai walked in right behind him, shoving Riku out of the way with a playful but impatient nudge. "Move it."
Riku stumbled slightly but kept his gaze fixed on (Y/n) and Keiji. There was something unsettling in the way his dark eyes lingered on her. She couldn't tell what it was- discomfort? Suspicion? Or something else entirely?
Yuuto didn't even glance in her direction as he entered. He moved like a ghost, silent and uninterested, slipping past them without a word. She heard his footsteps climb the staircase, each one heavier in her mind than it probably was in reality.
Souta, on the other hand, made his way straight into the living room. He stalked to one of the chairs across from them and dropped into it, glaring in their direction. His presence was heavy and hostile, like a storm cloud waiting to break.
(Y/n) shifted uncomfortably under his sharp gaze. The air felt thick and oppressive. Even though the movie was still playing, Souta didn't bother looking at the screen. His focus was entirely on her and Keiji.
