Chapter Sixty Eight Busting In

July 30th

(Nightfall) After a day  of tracking down the signal I finally arrived at a long abandoned lumber mill in Eastern Ostania and so I parked my car before I got out of the car and I grabbed my weapons, Once I had loaded my weapons I cautiously entered inside the mill not knowing what awaited me and so I remained on high alert, I made sure to turn on the flashlight that is attached to the barrel of my rifle before I entered the mill.

I carefully searched each and every room until I came upon a hidden passageway that led further down into the facility, And all the while I kept my wits about me as I continued down into the bowels of the mill to follow the signal and with each passing step I couldn't help but feel very unnerved by the utter silence, As I got closer to the location of where the signal is coming from the tracking signal kept pinging increasingly.

After what felt like hours I had finally arrived at the location and the signal was coming from behind a steel reinforced door and since there wasn't a very easy way to get into the sealed room I had to improvise, so I cocked my shotgun and I then blasted the door off its hinges and then the door fell open with a loud bang, I then proceeded to put my shotgun back onto my back.

I felt for a light switch and once I found the light switch I turned on the lights to the room and I was horrified by what I saw, tied up to a chair was Melinda who was beaten and bloodied but still alive miraculously, I quickly made my way over to her and I proceeded to untie her, Who did this to you Melinda?

Melinda whispered he's back Donovan is back before she passed out in my arms, And after I did a quick sweep of the room I saw no sign of Donovan Desmond which means that he is long gone from here, I quickly lifted Melinda up into my arms and I carried her out of the room.

After a long walk I was finally able to make it out of the lumber mill and back to my car, Once I was able to get Melinda situated I started to patch up the injuries that I was able to see, Once I had patched her up to the best of my abilities I buckled her seatbelt and then I proceeded to start the long journey back to Berlint.

I actually made it back to Berlint in record time and once back in town I had informed Sylvia that I had successfully retrieved Melinda and I was now taking her to Berlint General Hospital to get her injuries treated, So I dove slightly over the speed limit to get Melinda medical help that she desperately needed, Hang in there Melinda we will get you help very soon.

I'm just hoping that she can hold on just a little bit longer and upon reaching the hospital a surgical team was waiting for us with a medical gurney, and so I helped them load Melinda onto the gurney and then the medical team quickly rolled the gurney into the hospital, I followed after them at a distance and I would've followed them into the OR had a nurse with understanding eyes asked me to wait in the waiting room.

The nurse informed me that I would have to wait in here until they were able to Melinda stabilize and any possible surgery that they may need to do, but a doctor or a nurse would be come by every so often to inform me on her condition, I thanked the nurse who told it wasn't a problem and then she walked off to her the surgical team, And In the meantime I waited for any news.
